New camera lens 3 Attachment(s) So, after posting the last photo of Gunner T. Fluffles I came to the conclusion I needed a new lens. Got it today and tried it out. He was not cooperating so they are not the greatest, but they are better! I think if I can get the light better then I will be happy. Always seems part of his face is in a shadow. I need good lighting to eliminate this, but I also need him to hold still, not gonna happen. |
hehe well he does look super cute imo!! |
So precious! I want to try shooting Acorn with my DSLR, just haven't had time to get around to it! I always am holding treats in one hand, hard to take the pic with the other. Using a tripod and stand does help, but then I am limited in angles/scenery. |
Such a cutie pie. . . the difference between the post pics and your avatar is incredible ! The lens must be working . . I am in need of a lens for mine that takes the glair away and photographs the true color when I take pics of my fabrics and post them. Especially the reds and oranges, I've tried every trick imaginable, Very frustrating ... :( |

One of the other yt'rs gave me a link to the perfect photo website, using that as my guide. |
Adorable! Love his face:p |
2 Attachment(s) A couple more, having fun with the new lens. I love how it automaticly fades the background. |
I'm sure you are going to love your new lens. I love using my prime lenses because I can isolate my subject from the background, and I love the effect of a blurry background. I try to do this with my photos of Katie, but I'm usually rushed, and I often don't apply a lot of what I have learned to do..I always try to focus on the eyes, but sometimes the nose gets more in focus instead. With practice, you'll find yourself learning a lot. You have such a beautiful subject to photograph. |

The secret is "Treats" tiny little treats called Zukes, works like a charm ! |
Great pics, loving the bokeh! What lens did you get? Are you using a prime? It looks like you may be using a prime and a larger aperture. |

I am happy to help with any questions you have. Your 50 mm lens is a prime lens because it has a single focal length. |

You picked a great lens :-) I love my 50 mm for portrait photography, it has great dof ( depth of field, meaning fades away from your focus point. Another great lens I love if you want amazing detail, such as being able to see every little hair, is the 100 macro with stabilizer for lens shake. I also love my 70-200 for outside scenes as it has great quality photos and will adjust to distance up o 200mm away from you. Those are my 3 most used lens :-) |

Photoshop is a great program, and there is another awesome editing software by adobe called Lightroom. I love light room, because if I'm shooting on an overcast day or something, I can edit a whole batch at one time to correct things like this with Lightroom. It just has a lot more options than photoshop, if you want to get further into editing as you learn :-) |

(prime lens = one focal length, ie 50mm; whereas a zoom, you can change the focal length, ie like a 70-200 zoom lens) |
