Meet Misha!!! 1 Attachment(s) Hi All!!! I am a new dog owner :) I researched and researched and after much back forth with hubby we ended up on a yorkie... I came across this forum during my search and research. I am now ready to introduce my my lil precious baby... I received her at 8 weeks old and she is now 11 weeks old... Potty training is proving to be the most challenging but I am sure I will get through it... Hopefully the attachment works :) |

Welcome to Yorkie Talk! Your little pup is adorable. Welcome! |
Welcome to YT, Misha is a beautiful furball. Just keep working on the potty training, Yorkies are notorious for being hard ti train, but they can be trained. Cheers Quad & Gina:aimeeyork |
Welcome and she sure is cute! :) Small dogs can be a challenge to train most do have accidents from time to time. Create training works great. Give lots of praise when she gos on command or in the right area. She will get it. My puppy is mo old now she is doing better and better. |
Thank you!!! I love the site and all of you!!! Very helpful and informative!!!! |
She is so cute! Be prepared for an adventure with the potty training. With Cookie until about 5 months she would have great periods and then have days where she'd go in the house 2, 3, 4 times in a day just when we were thinking we were making big progress. And then one day it just seemed like she got it. Don't get me wrong: Cookie still has an accident here or there, but she is pretty good at letting us know when she needs out. For a pup anything below 4.5 months or so though, she needs to be taken out the second she finishes eating, the second she finishes drinking, the second she finishes playing, the second she gets up from a nap, etc. The little guys cannot hold it in at all at that age. Of course regular trips in between too. It's a lot of work, much moreso than any other breed of dog I have had, but it's worth the effort since yorkies have such loving, vibrant, and mischievous personalities. |
Actually, let me amend what I said: she needs to be taken to the puppy pad, not outside, until she has all her puppy shots. |
