What cute yorkies on this page! MaryKay, if you are grimming your 3 lovely long-haired yorkies yourself, then I do salute you! Keeping yorkies in long show length coats is very time consuming. I had started with the idea of letting Taffy have long hair, but his hair was so fine & silky that he would get little snarls near his skin which were invisible from the top layers. My breeder/friend called them "little spider-web snarls". I now keep Taffy's coat about 4-5 inches below his body...with his eyebrow hair trimmed across the top of his eyes and the hair behind these bangs long enough for bows. His beard is growing back from a short length we tried this summer, which I did not like. I keep his leg hair neat, but not short or his legs would look too thin. Once again, everyone's yorkies on this page look so cute & pretty! |

Gina's surgery recovery day might be like Taffy's..? My vet said to provide him with some water in his dish, but Not to let Taffy eat food until later in the p.m. to allow the anesthesia to wear off. I did let him have about a 1/2 inch strip of his Nutragel (a vitamin gelatin that comes in tubes) around 3:00 to perk his system up. He had 4 tsp.of plain, cooked chicken broth first, he got this poured slowly down the back side of his throat, and I rubbed his throat to be sure he swallowed it..he got this broth about 30 min apart, twice. Then, he went over to his food dish @ 4:30 all on his own, where I had put just 1/4 cup of his Wellness Puppy canned food (warmed in microwave and stirred) and he ate that on his own. The next morning, he ate a 1/2 cup of his plain, canned Wellness Puppy. Then, around 4:30 p.m., he ate his Wellness puppy (canned) + his regular rounded TBSP of dry Wellness kibble all mixed together as usual...Which is about 1/2 cup total. He did fine that week, and vet said he was doing very well at his post-op. check-up. I had the vet put in his microchip in during the same surgery, too! Hope Gina's surgery day went well! |
Zoey 1 Attachment(s) Love this face |
Cute little girl! Zoey's new photo is really pretty! She has such nice light silver & gold hair! Taffy is a blonde & silver Yorkie, but is a bit darker than Zoey. Taffy coloring is now just like his mom, and he is about 5 1/4 lbs. He had a small brother, but he was a very hyper, tiny guy; he seemed to be staying black & gold, like their dad. I am trying to get photos of Taffy to send in to Yorkie Talk soon. Ha! He doesn't like the camera flash at all, but I think I have 4 decent photos. Happy photo taking! -- Sue & Taffy |
Thank you ! |
Here is one of my baby https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater |
Another cute puppy! Izzy's coloring looks like Taffy's when he was about 14 wks. old. I can see the blonde starting to show under the black puppy hair on top of his head, too, so you may very likely see Izzy having a pretty all blonde head when he is 3 yrs.! |
