Yes, i definitely don't want to risk her with a pregnancy. But I'm afraid of the procedure since she is very small I don't know if the anesthesia is a risk for her?

How big is she? She looks like a tiny for sure! Unfortunately, an unintended pregnancy would be an even bigger risk for her, especially being so young.

Talk with your vet about your concerns. You want to know what type of anesthesia they will use and how it will be administered. Do they give IV fluids? Are they experienced with very small patients - that's a big question. I've just had this very conversation with my own vet.

OMGracious me hahaha! I'm rolling over w/her bum shot it's so cute!

I just have to say this, males can get to her no matter what, so please don't let her out of your sight (if she goes outside to potty). Just had to shout out a warning...just in case.

I'm with you on waiting, so is my vet. She said she doesn't like to give anesthesia to these little ones till they are full grown.

That is the cutest picture- i would choose my vet carefully for spay- i would call around to see who is best- yes risky- you have an adorable yorkie- you are so blessed

Minnie should be in a pamper advertisement. She is the cutest. I would buy them. Yorkies are the sweetest. You have been blessed.

Kyra went through her first and only heat at 6 months, we waited until she was a year and growth plates had stopped before fixing her. Your vet can xray to check this. Kyra was at 2.8lbs when she was done and did great. The pamper pictures are adorable.

This is very true! My chihuahua is 1lb and 6oz and I waited to spay her because she was too small. Imagine she was a little over a pound at age 2, she ended up getting pregnant from my sisters Shih tzu with 4 puppies! The vet had to spay her and remove the puppies because she would die during birth! It was so sad, I didn't see the risk as my sisters puppy was only 4 1/2 months and I though her was too young! Even the tiny ones need it, it's easy to avoid it since the period is sooo small lol but she's gorgeous!!

I spayed my female at 8 months and 3 pounds. It can be done... Spaying is far less dangerous than a pregnancy for a little one like Minnie. How much does she weigh now?
