Yorkie? We rescued a puppy that at the time looked to be a yorkie. Now he's a giant and we are unsure of his breed. I'm not sure how to post pics so if I could have help I'd appreciate it |
Although the breed standard is between 4-7 lbs, Yorkies come in all sizes. So you could possibly have rescued a giant Yorkie :) Your pup may also be mixed with another, larger breed. You have to resize photos so they can upload. You can use any free online photo editor, like picmonkey. Go to "edit a photo". After you open your photo, you'll see the option to resize in the left sidebar. If you put 600 in the first box (width) & leave the 2nd box (height) blank, it should make the pic small enough to upload. If not, try 500, or a smaller number. Can't wait to see pics of your big boy ;) Welcome to YT! |
I have a teapot :D He weights 13 pounds! We'll be able to help you out after posting a pic ;) |

I'm not an expert, but he looks like a Yorkie to me. We had one that was 15 pounds at his healthiest and got up to 20 pounds when we moved to town. |
He's adorable!!! Some Yorkies are just big. Looks to me like you got yourself a giant Yorkie ;) |
I think he's just adorable! Being bigger just gives you more to love! |
He's so cute:p |
We have had a small yorkie before and we loved her but with 4 boys I was always afraid they would accidentally hurt her. Tubsy is much more sturdy...lol He's my wild child! |
He is adorable! He has such intelligent eyes! He looks like a yorkie to me, but I think he also looks like he might have some havanese mixed in? (I'm basing this on the shape of the muzzle and shape of the eyes, looking at pics online) We have lots of members with purebred "teapot":D yorkies that are 15+ lbs, so it is quite possible he is all yorkie. I can imagine that with kids, a larger, sturdier yorkie would be much more preferable, for safety reasons. :) |

I think this may be highly likely--he has a lot of both characteristics. :) |
