The local police confiscated from his owners, this ratty looking, matted and filthy, loaded with fleas and ticks little yorkie, underfed totally neglected. I adopted him from the Humane Society, more because I didn't think anyone else would take him and I didn't want him to be euthanized.
The first picture I am attaching is how he looked when I first took him in; the second one is after he went to the groomer, got de-fleaed and de-ticked. In the last 3 months, he has gone from 3 pounds to 6 pounds. He is scheduled to be neutered later this month (the Humane Society always neuters before allowing adoption, but he was so skinny they were afraid to do surgery until he gained some weight.)

His name is Sammy (hence, my username "Sammy's Dad"!) They think he is about 2 yrs old because he has all adult teeth and a little bit of plaque that needs to be scraped when he is up to it.
I have another rescue, a shih-tzu mix that was so badly abused that he had to have an eye removed. They have bonded completely, they are already inseparable. I may have trouble getting pictures of them individually!

Welcome!! Your babies are adorable. Sammy looks like my Peanut, with bigger ears :D He is such a little doll-

It always makes me wonder about people these days.. who would not love and take care of that poor little soul.

So glad you saved him, I can tell he will have a loving home.

Can't wait to see updated pics once he is all settled in.

Oh poor little guy, what is wrong with people. Glad you adopted him before someone else who was bad got to him. And he is just so cute, give him a good rub, a hug and kiss to him please.

Bless you for being such a wonderful angel and parent to God's little creatures. Isn't it wonderful to see them become best buds. I just love to see that. They are like rose buds when you take them in, and after all the love and good food, they start to open up and soon become a rose and it's all so rewarding to finally see their true personalities shine through. ;)
