Lately Joel hasn't been wanting to go to bed at night and wants to play and I just noticed I think it's because it's so bright outside because of summer:eek:
He must think i'm tricking him or something.
I just took this pic and it's 10 pm. I know when I was little I always said "It's not night time yet" to my mom, lol I think Joel is doing the same thing and it will get alot brighter at night in the middle of summer:rolleyes: Silly boy!

I have always wanted to see a picture of early night in Alaska that shows me what it looks like. It looks like early evening - not night. That is amazing. I had no idea it was that light. That must take some adjusting to. Does it cut down on "nighttime" crime at all? No wonder Joel is a little confused - it looks like daytime to him and daytime is playtime, after all.

I'm sure it does cut down on nighttime crime. I feel really safe if I take them on a late walk:) In a few weeks it will be a lot brighter too.
I'm going to put up some dark curtains for him, last summer I think he was too little to realize but now he's older.

Awe poor baby. That amount of light at 10:00pm would confuse me too. Room darkening curtains are a good idea. He is just as cute as can be.

Poor Joel id be confused, too. ;) I cant believe that's at 10:00 pm..that's just crazy! Is it hard to adjust for sleeping or do you maybe have heavy backed drapes in the bedrooms to make it dark?

This reminds me of the movie "Insomnia." Hopefully Joel will make a better adjustment to the longer Alaskan day length than the character in that movie! :eek:

It doesn't bother me with it that bright, but I'm probably just used to it.:)

I'm with Joel......I need darkness to sleep! I have dark blinds in our bedroom and it lets in very little sunlight! Joel has such an expressive face...so cute!

Too cute! Funny how these little sweeties can talk without ever making a sound. I have to put a cover over my pups kennel and tell her night night. My vet tech told me to do this so I could get some sleep too! It works!!

I've always wondered how the long days in summer and long nights in winter affected one's body clock. Never thought about its effect on animals.

Wow, 10pm sure is bright in Anchorage. It gets dark here around 8:30 pm but soon we too will have more hours of sunlight.

Joel is so stinking handsome!!!! How can anyone resist that face :D:D:D
