Does anyone see yorkie yet?? We had our lil Minnie for a few weeks now and I'm seeing a lil change in her coat but nothing extreme. Has anyone else had similar situations?? |
How old is Minnie? It sometime takes a while for their coats color and length to change.....just depends on the dog! |
Joel took awhile until he looked yorkie, after he got out of the "blob" stage he started taking shape:D |
Do you have any puppy pics of him when he was small like my Minnie?? What makes some take so long and others its almost instant. Did you get people thinking you didn't have a purebred or did you ever have any doubt. What's ur hobest opinion bout Minnie?? How long is a awhile lol I don't care either way but I did have doubt at first but the more I thought about it I truley feel deep down she is a yorkie. The breeder abd I were on contact pretty much everyday. i met up with her a few times until she I got her at 9 weeks and in between the visits i received pictures updates and videos all the time. and She gave me the familes blood 6120853lines and all I don't think any fake breeder would go through all that trouble. |
I just posted on my profile a new pic of a recent one and one from a few weeks ago. |

You've posted a few similar threads regarding this. Minnie does not look like a purebred yorkie, to me. You've had her over a month now, right? So, she's been to the vet a few times for check-up/shots, right? Have you asked your vet what kind of mix he/she thinks Minnie is? Are you still in contact with the breeder? Have you shared your concerns with the breeder? |

My honest opinion is that she is a chihuahua or a mini pinscher with some yorkie mixed in. Her newest pictures confirm that as she looks even more chihuahua/min pin now than she did when you first got her. I don't think her hair will ever be long or fluffy. Her coat texture isn't even yorkie, it is chi which typically stays short unless it is a long coated chi. I found these two pictures for a comparison for you. They both look a lot like your girl and I would say this is how she will look as an adult This first one is what many chorkies (yorkie/chihuahua mix) look like... Attachment 384673 This picture is a chihuahua/min pin mix Attachment 384674 I know it may be hard to accept, but I don't think she will ever look like a yorkie any more so than she does now. Which is fine because she is absolutely adorable the way she is and you can tell how loved and happy she is!! She truly has such a sweet face and I can see why your family fell in love with her. Just accept her for what she is and love and spoil her. |

.She is cute but she is definitely not full blooded yorkie . |
With her being 3lbs is confusing to me because the mixed dogs all seem to be larger but I have no idea obviously. I'm just trying to figure out what to tell people what age is Ruth out getting crazy looks lol and I still honestly don't know :( she is loved extremely even by everyone that meets her she's so amazing abd we feel extremely blessed to have her in our lives but to have final closure would be nice maybe as she gets older a more defined breed with come through |
3 lbs for a chorkie would be very normal because. A chihuahua is a very small dog. I can understand wanting to to know if I paid for a full blooded yorkie I would expect a full blooded yorkie . did you know the person before you purchased the dog ? |
Sorry but I see very little yorkie in her, except perhaps her color. I know you have been seeking lots of answers and if I was you I would be frustrated and angry, so I fully understand that you want answers, but at this point you love your little girl so just embrace that she is a mix. I have a yorkie pom mix but knew that when I bought her and when I goggled yorkie poms I saw a wide variety of looks and not that many looked exactly like mine. Lola looks more like a yorkie, but I have a friend with a yorkie pom and her's looks like a little fox. Lola's litter mate was smaller and a complete brown fluff ball, while Lola had more of the yorkie markings. I tell you that so you understand with mixes there is no rule of thumb of how they are supposed to look. Just continue to love your little girl, and let yourself be amazed on how she will mature because none of us will be able to help you predict how she will look as an adult. On the subject of the breeder unfortunately after being on YT over a year I have seen this happen a bunch of times, so you are not alone. I don't believe the breeder did not know, any breeder of purebred dogs even the not so good ones know what the standard looks like, and the parent photo you posted in one of the threads I saw looks less like a yorkie than your girl does. I don't see where you said where you got her or how much you paid but I hope you paid $500.00 or less and if you paid much more than that, I would be taking her to court. Welcome to Yorkie Talk BTW and please join in on the many other threads we have here, mix or purebred does not matter to us. |
2 Attachment(s) Minnie is such a cutie! She looks like she's mixed with Chihuahua or Min Pin to me. Maybe Chihuahua since she's so tiny at 3 lbs. You can never really be certain of how a mixed breed dog will mature...even puppies from the same litter look completely different as adults (and as puppies too). That being said, it's really impossible to predict how her coat will turn out. Even full bred Yorkies change coat differently. It really depends on the dog & the parents, grandparents, etc. I have a Yorkie/Maltese mix. She started out tan with some black. Now she's completely blonde. She was always fluffy. I'm no expert, but by looking at Minnie's pictures, I'm not postive her coat will grow much longer. Has it grown much since she's been with you? If you've seen her parents, then that's a pretty good judge of how her coat will look as an adult. Here are some pics of my Yorkie/Maltese mix Momo at 12 weeks & 1 year... |
