So he eats a bird! Found some feathers in the yard

He freaks if I give him any less food but im trying to get him to lose some weight:rolleyes:

Be thankful he didn't eat Joel! (JK) You'll have to find a less calorie dense food so he can eat the same amount but less calories, and/or step up his exercise (not to include chasing and eating birds, lol)(chasing=yes, eating=no as this will add calories), and maybe add more fiber (not feathers) to help him feel full.:D

Lol we always joke that when he's hungry to keep Joel away, haha. He eats about 6 cups of his dry food a day and if I go a tiny bit less he's "starving".
I wish he would eat some veggies but the old man is so stubborn he won't touch them, and when he gets hungry he gets things on the counters, the table, and the garbage.
The only healthy thing he eats is apples so he gets one every night:)

I am sorry, but this made me laugh. One day Jasmine, who I think is part goat because she too will eat anything, proudly strutted into the den with a cardinal (bird) in her mouth....Ugh. She has also killed two moles, a couple of garter snakes, three baby bunnies from a nest in our yard (it was horrible) and some lizards. She is free fed, so she is NOT hungry, just a critter killer.

Haha, Jasmine is a good hunter! I would be creeped out if my dogs got all those critters:eek: Joel hasn't gotten anything yet:D

Well, they were bred to be critter killers, so I guess she is just doing what comes naturally! Huey isn't allowed in the yard unless leashed, but somehow caught a baby bird on our deck, brought it to me and proceeded to do the "kill shake" in front of me. It was cheeping, and I have been traumatized ever since! I got it away and put it in the yard, where the neighbor's cat promptly took over. :eek::(

I totally know what you mean. When Jasmine brought the baby rabbits one at a time into the house, I just wanted to leave. Ugh! But, she is what she is and if she can get anywhere close to a varmint she will kill it. My other two girls do not have that "drive", that goodness. She is only 5 lbs, but like most, thinks she is a 60 lb pit bull.

Sometimes in the spring, when Jasmine comes rushing inside through the doggy dog, I do catch myself holding my breath waiting to see if she is going to present me with one of her "extra special" little presents. Yuck!

I hope it was a magpie, those birds are always teasing him and swooping down at the dogs and sqawking at them:rolleyes: so Rosco was probably annoyed and hungry! Lol
