Teeka and question about bully stick 2 Attachment(s) Teeka got a new bully stick! She loves it but it is totally different than the Red Barn sticks. When she chews them, it gets stringy like a rawhide does. It is called Nudges by Wags and made in Independence, Iowa. Ingredients are Beef pizzle and smoke flavor, no rawhide or filler. Has any one heard of this brand? Any input on the safety? It is really hard and she is not able to chew anything off until it gets moist from her saliva. |
I called the listed number on the bag and they are produced in Iowa. They told me because it is a muscle and that is why it get stringy and soft when chewed. Is this the way other bully sticks get when chewed? |
Every bully stick I have bought gets like that. I had to quit getting them. Jada makes a mess of her facial hair when she chews on them. The stringy stuff gets stuck in the hair and then if you don't find it all immediately it sets up like chewing gum. I just don't give them to her, its too much of a hassle. |

I think that's normal. I give bully sticks to my two, but only once every couple of months. I feel like there isn't anything out there safe enough... I'm always nervous when they are eating them. |
She's so adorable! We have bought the nudges brand before as well. |
Sam just got his first Nudges stick. He chewed on it for about 30 minutes and hasn't touched it since. My boy is a weirdo. |
i trim the stringys off. |
I don't really have any advice, but Teeka has gotten so big! She's turned into a beautiful young lady :) |

Merrick brand also gets short strings, I think they are the beef fibers, I don't mind them, I think they act a little like dental floss when they try to pull a piece off. I've never had any problems with the stringy stuff setting up like chewing guy though. I think I'd try a different brand if mine did that. Teeka is such an adorable little girl. |

I give Bronco (6 months) bully sticks made in Independance, IA too. The brand is True Chews. Once his saliva softens the bully stick, they do get stringy and if he eats them on the couch there tends to be little pieces all over. But I haven't had any problems with it getting caught in his hair or him choking on it. Eventually the stick gets smaller and once it's about 2 inches long, I'll take it away from him as he could get the whole stick in his mouth. I've also heard some bully sticks tend to really smell and these don't smell at all. I'm really happy with this brand. |
She is absolutely beautiful. Don't have that much issues with the sticks. I also have an elk horn for Bentley that I got a Pet Co. He alternates back and forth on them. |
