My Yorkie Cody.... Can anyone tell me if I can verify the Sire or Dam of my Yorkie in any association I purchased my Yorkie in December of 2004 as a Toy Size Yorkie my Yorkie will be 5 months on March 10, my issue is that for his age he is growing rapidly I measured his torso yesterday and it was 16 1/2 inches and weight appx 9.5 lbs 3 weeks ago, I am confussed if this is a Yorkie or a Silky Terrier which has similar comparisons. Please Help! : |
Sorry I can't help you but if that is him in your avatar he is a doll... |
KenMarc, How many weeks was your yorkie when you got him and how much did he weigh then? |
Cody was 2 months and 4 lbs when we bought him |
Guesstimate Well, no one can give you an exact weight for what your yorkie would weigh full grown, but you are going to have a larger yorkie, Generally speaking, you take their weight at 8 weeks and triple it, double their weight at 12 weeks. Judging by his weight at 8 weeks (2 months) this guy is going to be about 12 pounds. Knowing the sire or dam is not going to prove anything. Sometimes you get a throwback. Anyone that guarantees a tiny pup is lying, no one can gurantee it, it is all guessing and using the formula above as a guideline. 4 pounds at 2 months is on the very large size. My boys are one year old and weigh 6.5 and 5.5 pounds and were around 2 pounds at 12 weeks. |
