Otis had a Massive Dingleberry.... ......and stamped poop all over my sheets at 2:30 a.m. in the morning!!!! I couldn't yell at him because it wasn't his fault. I kept wondering why he was at the edge of the bed, and when I reached down to bring him up by my side, I caught a whiff, and sure enough. The lights flew on and I let him stand in the bathtub while I ripped all my poop-stamped sheets off the bed!! I've been doing laundry all morning. This is probably the fifth time this has happened since I've owned him. ANyone else share this ghastly experience? |
Oh yes! This has happened to me. This is the reason for shaving butts and if your pup sleeps with you at night, it is wise to build it a stairway to get off the bed like taking a clothes basket filled with pillows and gradually build down ending with something like a pet bed. When Sonny first slept with us, this would happen. Then he would get to where he would whine when he needed down. If that didn't work for him he would paw us in the face. Then, of course, he would whine to get back up. |
2 Attachment(s) The thing is, Otis DOES have stairs that MikeM built him! AND his butt was shaved, too. He ate something that just wouldn't allow him to shake it off...therefore it got stamped all over my sheets. hehehehe.... |
I love the stairs! But where does Otis go potty at night once he gets off the bed? Our new little Pixie has been pooping on the foot of the bed and we obviously don't want that to turn into a habit! |
toby threw up on the sheets (fiances side of the bed of course)...... oh, and he has peed all over my fiances clothes too  at least that is one way to get him to pick his darn clothes up off the floor |
Junebug, Those are the cutest stairs. I want some now. Has he ever fell off the side? I could put pillows down on the sides I guess. I really like your stairs. Especially the pink ones! |
Me too! I really love the pink stairs. I want some! ...lol... |
See, you could go into business making these. You would already have two sold. I looked at these in catalogs but didn't want to pay the price. It never occured that step in the house could ever be so cute. What other snazzy inventions do you have hiden away there that you would be willing to share? I love the ideas. |

I actually got another set from Mike for Christmas....and this set, he didn't build, but he bought from Target and covered with cool material himself. |
Yikes, poor Otis! The only bad poopy experience that I recall is Yoda waking us up like 5-6 times a NIGHT wanting to go poopy, but he couldn't! For three days too, after someone fed him some unauthorized meat at a party! :( Yoda does sometimes throw up on the bed, but we've come to accept it as no big deal now. He usually manages to wake us up pretty good when he wants off the bed, thankfully! |
Hold still Otis............Dingleberry patrol! Little trim her, lil trim there... Ugh!.............terrible to wake up to! |
knock on wood none of those problems so far. LOL |
When Loki has dingleberrys he would sit down and start dragging his bum forward- on the carpet! It was like a call for help because I imagine it must not be too pleasant on his end. We're lucky he never did that on our bed- but he did pee on the bed a couple times- we think in spite because we were not home...who knows, it doesn't happen anymore...although he did pee on my boyfriends bag yesterday. lol  |
also...Loki doesn't have any problems with getting stuck on our bed- he jumps like a cat- he is fearless and has incredible jumping abilities. |
Been There Oh yes I have been through those messes many times. When we got Baby I was worried she would fall off of the bed so I made my boyfriend bring a futon mattress into the living room so we could sleep down with Baby. I guess we never thought of stairs because after we got broken backs from sleeping on the floor we took out bed off of the frame and just put the mattresses on the floor so she could reach them. I wonder who rules our house. :) Oh boy did we have an adventure one night. My boyfriend had went to bed and I was still up watching tv, well all of the sudden he wakes up and is holding his hand in the air asking "what's this?" Well somehow Baby had messed on the bed and he had it in his hand, but didn't realize what it was because he was sleeping. I was laughing so hard and he was so mad and still to this day think it is one of the funniest things I have ever seen! We have also had a few other poopie incidents, but I try and not stress, sheets are washable and I'm sure it wasn't pleasant for Baby either. She's worth it, even when I have to hear the boyfriend gripe! |
 I cannot believe we are having these conversations about poop on our Yorkie's butts ... but "it's a good thing"!! I haven't thought of some of Toto's funny "poop adventures" in months!! When we first got her @ 1 1/2 lbs., I guess she just had not gotten the "hang" of pooping or perhaps her little legs were just too short to "squat"! We never could tell if she was trying to squat or if she was just sitting flat on the pad, but almost every single time she would have a "pancake" on her little rear!! And the look on her little face was priceless!! As if she knew it was back there and she was sooooo embarrassed!! Poor baby ... that little fanny sometimes got bathed 4-5 times a day!! She got so used to it that she would come to us and turn around as if to say, "sorry, but it's happened again"!!! If she happens to get a little one now, she just looks really sad, embarrassed and droopy!! We look for a little "dingle" before we begin to check for physical ailments!!!! ;) |
