Beautiful Day In Southern California(: 3 Attachment(s) Cosmo really wanted to just jump in & swim with the ducks lol Silly boy..:) :woof: |
lol how sweet, and yes a beautiful sunny so cal day today. I noticed you use a collar for Cosmo, not the halter. Ive seen people on here say not to use collars. Are they ok to use or not with posibility of trachea problems of little breed? What are your thoughts? |

Really? Oh wow I had no idea it can cause problems. My neighbor is a certified dog trainer, she has never mention anything about his collar. This is something I will look into, if it causes problems to my pup I will banned it from my home. Thanks for letting me know though. |
Aww...he is a cutie!!! And yes it was a beautiful day in Southern Cali!!!! I took mine to a similar place Sunday! |
Beautiful! Loved the weather the past week or so, wore flip flops & capris everyday. It's getting a bit chilly now, finally winter is here in CA! loll If your pup doesn't pull on the leash, then it's really not an issue. But for pullers, it can damage/hurt their throat & if there's an existing tracheal problem, it can cause/worsen collapsed trachea. Harnesses are safe & that's what most small toy breed owners use. |
How inviting it must look to him. Now if he was a true country dog, he would be off leash and splashing around with the ducks. ;) As far as collars go, they are bad for small dogs. Invest in a no choke step in harness, as they don't come near the throat. ;) Some trainers even ask you to buy a choke chain. Do they really know their business. My Zada has a collapsed trachea, and because she's unable to breathe properly, it's putting a lot of stress on her heart and lungs. There isn't anything that can be done except give her medication every day for life to relax her. She's not allowed to go for walks because of the dust and dirt and I have to make sure I don't dust, vacuum or clean when she's in the same room. We took up all the carpets and had wood floors put down. She wheezes all the time and the symptoms are just like asthma. She won't live to be a senior because of this condition. |
You mean I missed a beautiful day while at work! I'll have to quit then. ;) Side note: another vote for collars to hold pretty ID tags only. All walking should be done attached to a harness. It's a simple safety precaution. Even if your dog doesn't pull, you can still accidentally yank the leash. Think of it this way, a yorkies throat is like a twig and a more muscalur breed like a German Shepard is like a branch. My flimsy 5'3" petite frame can brake a twig with one hand, but can't harm a thicker branch. Even inadvertently, I know my flimsy arms can hurt my 7 lb yorkie. I'd rather not take that chance. |
love the photos.so beautiful.and your boy is adorable |
He look like he's having so much fun! |
Thanks everyone for your comments! I got a lot of good/ and life changing information Thnaks(: |
So if your all from so cal who were your breeders? Were you happy with them? I've found one in fullerton called ace puppies. But I'd like a reccomended breeder. |
Nope. I do not recommend where I got Kaji from. I wouldn't do that to you. |
Maybe you should tell me so I don't go there. I'll start another post. Look for it. :) |
What a lovely little man:love: He looks like he'd love to snack on those duckies:laugh: |
It looks like he had a great day :D I also vote for no collar except to carry his tags. It's not worth a collapsed trachea... |
