Came home from dinner on Sunday & Lexi had successfully escaped her play pen. Now she can do it anytime. Doesn't she look pleased as punch with herself?!? LOL If she can do this at 14 weeks, oh my what DO we have to look forward over the next few months?!? :eek: Guess momma better zip the top closed for now on when leaving her.

haha, i have that xpen and lola used it for two days and hated it. how does your pup do with it?

:laugh: :laugh: :laugh: Little stinker:p!!! Glad it has a top on it, so you'll know she's safe when you leave her in it. Thank goodness! I just gated mine into the kitchen and thankfully neither one ever figured out how to climb the gate. Though Izzy did figure out how to climb our wooden basketweave fence and we had to put chicken wire on the inside to stop her.

These little babies are so clever and brave:p

I loved my playpen like that, until Chewie learned that he could collapse the sides. Once that happened, he chewed a few teeth out of the top zipper so it wouldn't close all the way, and TADA!! It works if I need to contain him while I'm in the same room (like when I'm teaching lessons), but if I have to leave, in the crate he goes!

Whatever you do, don't use the side panels to put her in the ex-pen. If your little one is like mine, she pays attention and will try to use that as the escape route. I have the same ex-pen and as long as I place her in the top and zippered it close, Brandi thinks it is the only way to escape.

Lexi doesn't seem to mind the pen - other than when I leave the room/she can't see me. She eats her meals in it, takes naps in it & that is her main potty area. She goes in & out.

Ooops too late - I have used a door for her to be able to enter/leave on her own the majority of the time. Never zipped the top until after this past week-end. I figure if this pen lasts her for most of her puppy-hood we will be lucky. :D

Well be careful on where you place the zipper.. My little girl had the same pen and I left the zipper down where she could reach it one day and she chew through the zipper and freed herself. I tried to fix many times and let me say if she wants out it will happen. I just gave up on the pen because she kept breaking out of it lol.

Ya know, I am surprised a bit that the "pen" has lasted this long as much as she likes to chew every little "thread" or string, tags, etc. :D If it makes it through her puppy period, I will be impressed BUT I don't expect miracles with a fabric & zipper containment pen either - especially with knowing her & what she can do! LOL It s/l your little one was very smart at figuring things out too.

hahahah omg that is hilarious!!! Geno figured out how to get up the stairs when the gate is across the bottom of the stairs. He pushed on it enough to slant it so he could use it like a ramp and then he would just go up it. These little houdinis!!!! :)
