| LuvMyFurkidz | 10-23-2011 04:59 AM | Awww.....thank you all so very much. I did choose a name - "Lexi". I loved the suggestions you all gave too though. They seemed more fitting than the name "Bailey" that I had considered. The name just didn't seem to fit her. She is already responding some to the name Lexi.
Lexi is using her potty pad very well - had two accidents the first day which I totally expected (& then some). She will pretty much go within a couple minutes when I place her on her pad & say "Lexi, go potty". I think she is SO smart! (A bit partial momma perhaps :D) She slept part of the first night in her playpen & the rest in bed with us. Last night she spent the whole night with us & did extremely well. (I planned on her sleeping with us.) I got up once & took her to potty. She IS such a doll. We love her to pieces already.
Her 12 y/o Shih Tzu brother is Keegan & her 10 y/o ST sister is Keesha. They come to her, sniff her but I am not yet comfortable with them getting together down on the ground yet. There has been some barking & growling on their part. They are getting extra attention, lots of extra love from us both, praises & treats right now for whenever they sniff her (when I am holding her) or just sit & watch her & behave appropriately. Keesha has always slept with us & the two were sleeping within 11/2' last night.) I think they are coming along fine but it is just not time yet. We will introduce them soon "together" (one at a time) outside on leashes with my husband & I both (as per a wonderful suggestion by a YT member here). Just allowing them time to get use to each other right now. Lexi seems happy just letting them look at her & sniff her when I am holding her. It is great that she will just lay there & look at them & not move. She is very curious too but is soooo calm (thankfully such a good girl). I want this to be a good experience for all of them.
P.S. Lexi is helping me type this. :D |
