We're Back!
 

Hey everyone! Sorry Buster and I have been away for a while but we're back... and just in time for Buster's 1st birthday! My little man turns 1 today!! I took a half day at work and I'm baking him a dog friendly cake and me and my fiance are taking our little boy to PetSmart tonight so he can pick out some toys! :) Some people think I'm crazy ("You're leaving work early because it's your dogs birthday?" <--- Direct quote from a girl I work with) but I know you guys will understand :)

Here is the most recent pic of Buster... Taken shortly after midnight right after my fiance and I sang Happy Birthday to him :)

Hope you all enjoy the pic... it's taken with his favorite toy.. his BALL! lol... It's nice to be back on YT!

P.S. He is 12 lbs now! Pretty sure he is done growing but I can't believe how big he got! We think he is actually a Silky Terrier but whatever he is ... it doesn't much matter.. we love him no matter what! :)

Peanut Butter Carrot Birthday Cake

Naturally sweet, colorful and flavorful, this dog birthday cake is simple and easy to make. Great for Fall.
1 cup flour

1tsp baking soda

1/4 cup peanut butter

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1 cup shredded carrots

1 tsp. vanilla

1/3 cup honey

1 egg

Mix flour and baking soda. Add remaining ingredients. Pour into greased 8" round cake pan and bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Let cool. Puree cottage cheese in blender for icing. Decorate with more peanut butter and carrots.

Happy Birthday to Buster:D!!!!! He is so lucky to have such a loving family:love: Of course we all understand taking a half day at work:laugh: I'm just surprised that you didn't take the full day:p

First off, HAPPY 1ST BARKDAY BUSTER!!:D:cool::)

Second, I know how you feel about people thinking you're crazy for taking off work for your furbaby. Dolce's 1st barkday is coming up on the 16th and I took the WHOLE day off just for her party (lol). Luckily, one of the pharmacists I work with and another tech are also dog lovers and ALMOST as much of fanatics about their babies as I am, so I don't get beef from them, but the rest of the staff think I'm nuts haha. :rolleyes:

Third, what kind of cake did you make for Buster? I want to make little cupcakes for Dolce and her friends @ the dog park and I'm looking for a really good recipe. I would love to see what recipe you used if you don't mind sharing :)

Fourth, Wow 12lbs @ 1 year old? Buster is a big boy!:eek: If he is a yorkie and not a silky, I feel like Dolce is falling behind in the race lol. JK. She isn't even 4 lbs @ 1 year old which kind of worries me! I'm not sure if she is just tiny, or if she is underweight and I should be feeding her more? She doesn't act hungry and she takes all day to eat her 1/4 cup of food, but maybe I'm just used to overweight dogs and cats (my family dog growing up, an american cocker spaniel, has always been a fatty patty:rolleyes: lol and my two 4 year old kitties are 18 pounders! lol). :p

Anywho, I'm glad Buster had a great barkday and I'm sure he will have many more wonderful years to come! Thanks for sharing!:aimeeyork
