Lepto shot = sore booty 2 Attachment(s) Macy had her Lepto shot in the morning and had a slight reaction. Her booty was sore and this is how she slept all afternoon. She loves her Cloud 9 bed. All she needs is a bell to ring when she needs something. This is my first picture so I hope this works. |
Aww, poor baby's booty. Good thing she has a pretty Cloud Nine to pamper her adorable rear end. Great pics. :) |
This is her second Lepto shot and she has had a reaction both times. This time they give her a shot of benadryl first and she still had the same bad reaction. She must have been sore all over because she wouldn't let me pick her up. I just let her sleep with her booty in the air and she felt better by later that night. |
If she is having a reaction to the vaccine, I would weigh the risks and benefits of it before doing it again. It's a tough decision. Lepto concerns me, but so does the vaccine. |
Lepto concerns me too but a dog in our area died from it this spring. I am going to have to do more research before I decide if the risk outweighs getting the shot. I scheduled her shot early in the morning on a day the office was open until 8:00 P so if I needed to take her back a vet would be on duty. |
Very good idea, doing it early in the day. |
Awwww......... She's a Cutie!! :) Riley had his 1-year exam this past Monday. I am really nervous about Lepto in my area.... spoke with the vet about it and he did say the reaction to the vaccine can be really bad..... We did not get it. |
Macy seemed to be sore everywhere. That was her only reaction that I could see. She didn't want me to pick her up or even get close to her. It lasted about 18 hours and then all of a sudden she started walking around and was fine. The vet thought getting the benadryl shot first would eliminate the reaction but now I know it doesn't work so next year I'll make a choice on getting the shot or not. |
ah, poor baby. |
Awww, poor thing, but still so adorable! |
