I didn't realize how old he really is
 
My Frisco is 17 years old, I never realized how old he really looked till I saw this recent picture of him we took......my heart sank when I saw it, it hit me like a brick wall.

When I read your post I had a cute "snappy" reply in mind -- that is until I looked into those warm, intelligent, loving eyes. Now I have tears rolling down my cheeks.

Gee whiz, this is too early to be so emotional! Your Frisco is incredible - just look at him! I am going through the same thing with our 15+ year old Boxer, Booger. What Boo has taught me and I will share with you - cherish every single moment you have with Frisco, respect him, love him, feed him the best possible diet, allow him to do what he enjoys.

Sending our best wishes for many healthy birthdays to come.....

AWWm what a beautiful face. I know what you mean about them looking older. My Lizzie who is 14 1/2 you can really tell in pictures now. I had someone that I sent a Christmas Card to tell me how much older she looked.
Lizzie will always be a baby to me, as I'm sure your Frisco is to you.

He's a handsome little guy. When I had a 17 yr old I didn't realize how old she was looking until I saw some video & pics taken a few months before she died. Love is blind I guess.
Frisco looks great and happy for 17.

Frisco is so cute and looks great to be 17, I just pray I will be blessed to have my Yorkies to live that long. He is blessed to have someone that has loved him and taken good care of him all these years.

He is just adorable! I have a 14 1/2 year old Yorkie with kidney failure and I too cannot believe the change in him when looking at pics....you are so lucky to have him this long.... he is to cute!!

Oh geez Cindy....now I'm all tears and choked up too ;). Frisco is so precious and you are so right, you can just see the love in his little eyes!

Thanks for all the encouragement, and wishes for more years. He is, and always will be my best buddy. When we first got him, he would always fall asleep on my chest....for hours....a special bond was built. I have always said, "When his time comes, he will be falling asleep, in my arms, drentched in my tears"....then when my time comes, he goes with me....hopefully, that won't be for a while for either of us.

Wow, Frisco looks wonderful for 17! I am so hoping and wishing that I am that blessed to have mine around as long and longer. You can tell he's well loved and cared for.

We took him to the vet yesterday for his Rabies shot, and quick check up. The vet sez that "He is working to breathe, it's not like you normally breate without thought, he is concious of his breating, seems to be breathing from his abdomin"....sounds like she's just giving us a heads up.....to us, his breathing seems fine, appitite is definetly there, every once in a while gets a burst of energy and takes off across the yard....and yes, he still controls the house....;)
