Celebrating Three Years with our Darcy Darlin 4 Attachment(s) I cannot believe it has been three years today that Darcy has been in our lives. I am so thankful that she has made it this long, as she was so sick when she came to us. She still has bad days, but for the most part she is a pretty happy go lucky little lady. Some of you may know the past 12 months have been difficult for me with my health and previous job issues, but Darcy is my inspiration to keep on. She is such a fighter. She is the apple of her Daddy's eye and holds a piece of my heart. Here are a few photos of her thru the years: 1. First photo..she was very sick and depressed 2. First Shopping trip..she was using her pink loofah dog as a pillow in the car. 3. First Darlin Beaux 4. First Smile |

Amy, we LOVE Darcy! I love all the pics, but that first smile just grabs my heart. She is such a special little girl. I know she is loved so very much, and she knows it too. You can tell just by looking at the pics, and how animated and happy she has become :) Chase also want to send her kisses, because he loves her! |
Awww Amy, Darcy is a "Darlin" for sure and obviously happy to be a part of your family. You can see the the progression of pictures just how happy & healthy being with you has made her. Giver her a big 3 year anniversay hug from me and the Fab Five.......plus 4 tiny hugs from Hannah's "A" team. :p |
Thanks so much everyone, I am so proud of her! |
Amy - the pictures are adorable! You can tell that she is loved by how happy she looks. You are an amazing mom, and she is proof of what love can do. Congratulations to all of you as you are all so lucky to have found each other. |

Hi Lila! Thank so much for your kind words! My husband was on his way to run some errands, and he actually found Darcy laying in the middle of the road, in the rain! He was scared she was going to get hit, as cars were swerving around her to miss her, so he opened up his truck door, and she jumped right in :). Darcy wrote a blog post about it, if you click under our avatar, you can find it. We posted ads in the newspaper, and notified all the groomers and vets in the area about her. She was not microchipped, and had no collar or tags. Only one person came to the house to see her, and she was not hers. We took her back to the area later in the day and knocked on all the doors in that neighborhood, no one claimed her or recognized her. It is a mystery how she got in the road at that time. She was panting very heavily, and her belly was very swollen (as you can see from the pictures). I took her to our vet the following day, and found out she had congestive heart failure. She has been on lasik every since. Recently she has begun taking prednisone for her collapsing trachea, and Vasotec for her heart. Our vet theorizes she was too expensive to take care of, and she was dumped. I will never know for certain, we have just done everything we can to make sure she has the best life now. |
