Hi Everyone 1 Attachment(s) I am a new member of Yorkie Talk and just wanted to introduce my little girl, Sassy. She is 10 1/2 months old and currently weighs 2 lbs 6 oz. She is every bit of her name and then some. I have another Yorkie, (Sir Michael) but he is of a normal Yorkie weight (7 lbs). He will be eleven years o;d in September. In addition to my two Yorkies, I have a 10 year old teacup poodle and two cocker spaniel mixes, they are sisters and will be 16 years old this year. Yes, I have a handful, and they travel with us back and forth from Texas to Michigan twice a year. I will try to post pictures of my youngest baby as well as my others. I hope to chat with some of you soon. Make it a GREAT DAY!:aimeeyork |

Welcome to YT! Sassy is precious!!! |
Thanks for the warm welcomes WOW, Thanks for all the welcomes. You all are so nice, and your babies are all adorable too. I think my little girl is having her first heat. I am so worried about her.....My teacup poodle is a male and not neutered. And of course with Sassy being so small, I have not yet had her spayed and she is much too small to breed. I just went out and bought her some little shorts for her own protection and in case she starts her m/c which I expect any day now. Thanks again for the warm welcomes. And for anyone who needs any advice on these tiny little ones, I now have 10 1/2 months experience and believe me, she has given me plenty of experience. Take Care & God Bless you all! Happy Easter!:aimeeyork |

Welcome! Sassy is gorgeous...such a sweetheart. I have no breeding or in heat experience, (much prefer spay for health & safety), but from what I have read on here and seeing all the (oops, my dog is pregnant threads) shorts will not do the trick if she is in heat. I believe they have to be separated 24/7 and the only 100% guarantee is if for the male is removed from home until the full cycle is over. Good luck. Please watch your little girl carefully. Looking forward to seeing pictures of all your furkids soon. |
Welcome to YT. Sassy is a real beauty! Can't wait to see the pics of the rest of your furbutt family. |
Thanks Perella, Your little baby is also beautiful. I'll make sure I keep a hawks' eye on Sassy. Have a great day. |
Sassy is a cutie!! Welcome to you and all your babies!! |

Your little girl is not to small to be spayed and the alternative is much more dangerous for her. Find a good vet that is proficient in the Toy breeds and have your girl spayed. |
Wow, it definitely sounds like you have your hands full! :) I hope you are able to get your youngest spayed soon because it would be very dangerous for her to deliver pups. If you can't have her spayed right away, why don't you neuter your male poodle at least? The shorts will not keep them from mating.... |
Welcome to YT!! Sassy is adorable |
I now realize the shorts won't keep them from mating, thanks to all the responses. We are getting ready to head to Michigan this week for the summer. When I get up there, I am going to ask our vet what he recommends as far as spaying Sassy or neutering Teacup. My husband thinks it would be better to spay Sassy, that way we don't have to worry about all the problems that go with a female in season. My other Yorkie is neutered and my two cocker mixes are spayed. My teacup poodle was originally purchased to stud out, he comes from a 'championship bloodline and he's beautiful. I just never advertised for it. I don't know why. Anyway, he is now 9 years old so I'm not sure if he's too old to breed or have neutered for that matter. I just don't want him mating with my little Sassy girl. I will just have to make sure they are never alone together. At least until I get up to Michigan when I can talk to my vet. Thanks for the info. Happy Easter to everyone! |
Welcome to you and Sassy (adorable!).:p |
