This first shot cracks me up. It's such a tense -- and typical -- encounter on the trail among my dogs. You can see Jillie is crouched and poised to pounce on Rusty. Rusty is taking the threat seriously -- because she does this all the time. Eddie, meanwhile, is likely sizing up the situation and figuring that he can sneak by safely once Jillie makes her break to pounce on Rusty. Of course, Eddie isn't nearly as afraid of Jillie as Rusty is. Check out my avatar for how he gets past her on the trail. :O

Rusty is such a good boy. November 4 was his 3-year anniversary in Alaska, and he's been a perfect fit the entire time. He's the best big brother ever.

And here are a couple shots of Jillie romping in the snow today. It was funny, yesterday I didn't realize she'd lost a bootie, and she wasn't nearly having as much fun on the walk. I ended up having to put her in my coat to warm up. But with all four booties on today, she had a blast.

These pictures are adorable. It looks like they all love being in the snow. Love the boots! Don't you just love 'action' shots? Last year I took a picture of Speedy running in the snow and it turned out to be a wonderful shot of her in the air.

It's too early to even THINK about snow in my opinion. BRRRRRRRR

Beautiful pictures...your pups are precious!! BRRRRR is right with all that snow already. What booties do you put on your yorkies? I wonder if I would need them here for Trixie??

I was wondering what booties they are too. I'm thinking Toby might like some this year. Now if I could get him to hold still so I could find out what size to get him!

I buy them from an Alaska woman who patterns them off the booties that sled dogs use. They're just simple fleece sacks that secure with velcro. Her secret to keeping them on is to attach the velcro to an elastic strap. It allows me to snug them down a little more without cutting off their circulation. And the best part is she makes 3XS, which are perfect for my 4-pounder.

Thanks everybody :) Yeah, that shot of Jillie makes me smile too. She was running down a kids' sled hill like she was one of the kids!

I get pics from still camera. I can lift a frame from a video, but I find the quality isn't as good as a rule.

Oh my gosh, the pics of your babies is fabulous! I love your action shots, amazing. I love them all, but that Jillie cracks me up:D What a wonderful snow haven life that have...and obviously love it too! Your avatar is great!

I tried boots on Max and he walked so funny....I laughed til I cried...how did you getbthem to accept the boots. I tell you I am laughing outloud just remebering him with them on

What kind of booties did you use? I tried a designer set one time that my dogs did the same thing with. They had leather soles and heels, and my dogs found them too restrictive, I think.

To get them used to them, start slow. Bring some favored treats and try luring them to the treat. Reward and praise a single step at first. Then gradually up the ante by requiring more steps. The first half-dozen times I tried them on Eddie, we didn't even take a full walk. The breakthrough for him was when I started tossing a favorite toy for him. He'd chase the toy because he loves toys. Pretty soon, he forgot he was wearing booties.

Nice photos:) Jillie looks happy and healthy to me. All 3 of the dogs are so beautiful. I love to watch dogs play in the snow. We had a lab for 15 years and he loved the snow. My two oldest children had so much fun with him in the snow:) I miss him so much. He would have been a great brother to Bailey:) She probably would have drove him nuts but thats ok to:)

Ha, you gotta love Labs. I think they're the perfect big brother for Yorkies. Rusty puts up with so much, but Jillie curls right up with him every night. Lately, she's stopped wanting to sleep with us. I guess Rusty is warmer and tosses and turns less than I do. ;)
