Haircut day! 1 Attachment(s) I've switched groomers to a woman who works out of her home 3 minutes away from my house. It's so convenient that she could do a lousy job and I'd probably still take them there. But she does a nice job. Her prices are great. She charged $35 for Eddie and $25 for Jillie when they were overdue for haircuts and Jillie was matted. This time, five weeks later, she charged $40 for the two of them. The only hitch is she likes to see them every 4-5 weeks. Do those of you who take them to the groomer go that often? How about for those who do their own grooming? Just curious. I have to admit that since I've started keeping her long, she looks like she's ready for a haircut every month. Oh, almost forgot. Here's Jillie. Eddie didn't change that much -- just a bath, nails and touchup -- so I didn't bother photographing him. |

OMG I can't stand it! Jillie is soooooo pretty! And poopy on you, Mikey, we wanna see Eddie, too! Best do what your groomer wants, or she'll have to charge you more! Seriously, longer than that will make any problems worse and she'll be spending more time to fix 'em. :D |

i truely depends on the dog..they are just like us...some have hair that grows faster and nails that need trimmed sooner........i have one i have to trim every 2 weeks or he cant see....and one that i literally can go 6 weeks between trims. |

Gosh Jillie's hair has gotten so long. She is so gorgeous. |

Wow! Jillie just looks sooooo grown up! It's crazy. Where did the little puppy go?! Anyways, at that price... I'd probably do it more often. Jackson tends to get groomed every 10-12 weeks but that's only because of money and about how long I can stand for his hair to get lol. I recently found a mobile groomer who is great and charges just as much ($50, plus tip) as the place I used to have to drop him off at for 4hrs. So I'm gonna start getting him done every 8-10 weeks. |

Jillie is so pretty. Her hair looks so healthy. |

Wow, Jillie is so pretty! I probably go a few months between professional grooms, but I trim in between. Thor starts out with a long puppy cut, and I let the sides get really long. <usually I take him in when he starts peeing on it>. If I wanted to maintain it, I'd probably take him in every month. He has kind of a messy look, but I think he looks cute and puppyish with it. I don't like it as much when it's neat. :) I do brush him every night to prevent matting in the shoulder area. It's part of our whole bedtime routine. |

I take Moto every 3-4 weeks. He doesn't always get an all over cut. But he always gets his ear, paws, privates and face cleaned up and a bath. I am always charged 30 but I also give a tip. Moto always gets taken in first (I can drop him off at 730 for the first wash and groom of the day) and is usually done in at least an hr and 30 Minutes. We had to get Moto shaved down to a super short body cut due to puppy hair matting at the harness area. And in the summer this can't be avoided due to camping. And I would even brush him daily (sometimes twice). But he likes his short hair I can tell. But he looks so skinny and small in this cut that I'm not sure we will maintain it or start to grow it out again. Do you give your own baths in between the haircuts? |

oh my, Jillie has grown up! She's gorgeous. I have been doing my own grooming for a while now. They get baths every 2 weeks--I usually trim legs and feet and butt at that time. I comb them out every day so that seems to help with matting. I've only had 2 or 3 mats ever and they were very small ones. I don't know if you comb/brush Eddie or Jillie out but maybe this will help and you can stretch the grooming visits some. Although for what your groomer is charging, that is not bad. I was paying $44 for Hot Rod every 2 months. Maggie has never seen a professional groomer. |

My groomer comes to the house (thank god!) and I have her on a 5 week rotation. Two of mine are in a summer cut right now, and my smallest I am leaving his coat grow. I paid $36 each first time and this time it was $45 for Sophie and Ivan and only $38 for Aflie (but he didn't get anything cut. Just cleaned up a bit). My Vet does bath, cut, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and nails. Not sure what all you have done for your price. But you are right. 3 miles away is very convenient. BTW....I haven't been on for awhile. Your Jillie is getting mighty pretty! |
