Tiffany is absolutely B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!! Congratulations and enjoy! |
Tiffany! Wow, thank you all so very much for all your nice comments! She is our dream puppy, so cute and we just love her! As a first time Yorkie owner, this site has been wonderful! I am sure I will have more questions as time goes by, one of which is dealing with a little feisty streak that Tiffany seems to have... She growls when brushed and occasionally when we are trying to cuddle her but she is not in a cuddly mood and wants to be put down to run around and play! Other than that, she is always playful and sweet! But I do not like the growling, even though in a way, it is almost funny, because she is such a tiny thing, you almost have to laugh when she growls. But I worry about that side of her! Anyone else have a puppy that growled? Will she outgrow it or will it get worse? I did take her to a groomer already because I was having such a hard time brushing her, and even they told me she was feisty when I came to pick her up. They said she is like a 2 year old child who just has to learn that brushing her hair is something she has to endure without throwing a fit~ I have been doing it mostly when she is tired now and that seems to help a little bit... And Scooter's Mom Tami has given me great advice to just brush her little bits every day till she gets used to it... Any other ideas??? Thanks again so much, you are all great and it is wonderful to have Yorkie Experts to talk to! |
I'm by no means an expert, but here is what I'm doing. My Tia has a "fiesty" streak, which the vet even noticed when she went in for her shots. He advised me to do some "submission" exercises with her. Hold her on her back until she stops squirming - don't make eye contact. When she stops squirming give her some love. I guess it lets her know that when she lets you take the control she will get a "treat" :) I'm also planning on taking her to puppy classes once her shots are finished up. I've been brushing Tia just a little bit every night and she too bites on the brush. I think she just wants to play. :) I guess the best we can do is just keep doing it and hope they'll get used to it! I'm so impressed with your baby! Make sure you post lots and lots of pictures - I'm sure we all can't wait to watch her grow up! :D |
