Wow I have never seen a white yorkie. How are all these other colors coming from black/blue and tan lines? Was something mixed in or? Also, how do you register these colors? I mean it only gives black/blue and tan/gold variations. So what color do you register them as as far as color goes? I hope I am making sense..LOL
I also went to your web site and your dogs are indeed gorgeous. I still prefer the blue/tan, but the parties are pretty too. |
The colors are coming out when two dogs happen to get mated that carry recessive genes from way back in the yorkie make up. They are happening more and more now because people are actively breeding the off color dogs rather than destroying them at birth.
If you go to the AKC site they give information on registering off color pups. What you do is take two photos, one front view standing and one side view standing(I always include a top view also). You send in the registration without a color selected and write attention color specialist (or Tina Yuhl) under the address on your envelope. The AKC color specialist looks at the photos and decides the color of the dog.
Some colors like tan or Chocolate will actually show up in your choices if you register online and the parents of the dog were off color as well. Parti does not show up in the online system yet. |
