The newest addition to our family 3 Attachment(s) Hello! I just got "Lewie" today. He is joining the pack, along with my other yorkie Manolo. He's 9 half weeks old right now, and loves loves to sleep. So far he's been very mellow. Manolo and him are starting to somewhat adapt to each other. I know it will take some time, but I can't wait till I see the both of them playing together like the best of friends. :animal-pa I added a recent picture of Manolo also. Anyway, I noticed a small white patch on Lewie's chest. Is this what they consider the parti-gene? I tried to take a picture of it. I've read about the parti-gene, but I wasn't sure what it was exactly. Did anyone ever get a yorkie like this? Does the white eventually grow out? Thanks for reading about our new member! - Florence |
You little ones are beautiful. I too am curious about the white patch. Jada is 2 1/2 and she has a white patch in exactly the same spot. I hope someone posts the answer because I would also like to know. |
They are both adorable. Congrats on Louie. We just got our new addition in October. She's a little over 5 months now. I think the white patch is normal. I believe I read that some Yorkies have that and then it just changes over time. I don't think it means he's a Parti Carrier. I'm sure someone more experienced on here will have the answer. Elaine |
Congrats on your new baby! |
What a precious cutie pie. Don't know anything about white patches, but he's definately all Yorkie baby. Congratulations!! |
My baby has a white chest spot in about the exact same place and it is normal. As far as I know MOST white spots grow out with age, although it might take awhile because as far as I know Yorkie's color change isn't really completed until it has matured at 2 or 3 years of age. So his coat will always be changing. I read somewhere that a little white on the chest is actually a good thing in yorkies as it shows that the yorkie won't get over pigment. 8p I don't know if this is true though. |
Hi...you have some cutie pies! According to the "breed standard" by the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website. Yorkshire Terrier Club of America, the white spot on the chest is normal if it doesn't exceed 1". :D Donna |
Lewie is such a cute name for your new baby. Congratulations! |
He is so cute. The white spot will gradually get smaller and then disappear. Mine had it too but gone now! :) Congrats. |
Thanks for the update! I appreciate everyone's knowledge.:heart to |
Too cute. Enjoy your newest furbaby. |
