I am home at last with LIPSTIK. I am not fully recovered from the long day, but what an exciting day it was! :p First of all, I want to say again how thankful I am to AZKATY for her graciousness and hospitality. What a great friend I made from this adventure! ;)
The trip from NC to AZ was actually ahead of schedule by 40 minutes. Azkaty(YT'er) had called the airline and knew the flight was ahead of schedule, so she met me at the airport. What a sweet person she is. She knew what I was wearing and knew I had a burgundy carrier, so that wasn't too hard. Then she took me to her home, where I met her husband briefly. Then I met Ralphie, whom is a cousin of Lipstik(from the same breeder). And what a cute and distinguished fella he is! And met her golden retriever's. So, we played with her children and had a great visit. She then took me to our meeting place, but the breeder said she would be 45 minutes late (and at that point, I thought OMG I may not make it home, hehe). Soon after, we met the breeder(very nice lady) and LIPSTIK. Well, need I say more? I'll let the pictures say it all. But keep in mind, these were taken this morning and she is still stressed from such a long day!
The breeder drove three hours to our meeting place and had said that Lipstik had vomited a little. Then while walking through the airport (and by the way they did ask for the health certificate) at a rapid pace, I stopped at a restroom and noticed Lipstik had vomited the Nutrical we gave her. So, she was a little stressed. I tried to give her some food but she wouldn't eat. But she drank sips of water from the doggy water bottle I had taken with me to keep her hydrated. I gave her a little more Nutrical and she kept that. She slept through the whole flight. She was in the carrier but of course I had the opening and was soothing her. She would peek her head a few times and she had already taught me that meant she was thirsty(see how quickly they teach you, hehe) so I gave her a few sips of water again. The flight attendant said I could not hold her when the plane is taking off or landing, and since Lipstik wasn't crying I obliged. But if she had been crying I would have put her on my lap because they leave the area when the plane is taking off so they wouldn't have noticed. But on the landing, I checked for the stewardesses and saw they were gone, so I kept her on my lap and it worked out fine.
She slept on her crate all night without whimpering which was great cause I was so tired and exhausted. ;) This morning Lipstik looked weak, but when I went to the kitchen, she ate very well and has drank water several times and peeing. General Patton doesn't know what to make of her. :D She started getting comfortable with him and is chasing Patton and he is running away from her and she thinks it is a game and chases Patton again. Bella seems to be her good friend so far....
I will post some more pictures after this one because I can only post four at a time. Tell me what you think? |
