Let me introduce Bella My baby girl
 

Hello i am new to your forum and new to the yorkies breed as well, I bought my frist pup on saturday and i am in love, she is so sweet, funny, loveable, She is a mix breed she is mixed with pom, but looks more like a yorkie than a pom. :aimeeyork, My Bella is 6 weeks old, i am kinda thinking this is to young for her to leave her mommy and have some questions to ask.

When i bought her the old owner told me she was fine to leave because she was eating on her own and going number one and two. Since i have had her home she has been whining alot so i cuddle her and make her feel safe but is she longing for her mom and how can i help her. She also told me not to feed her any kind of beef as it will upset her stomach and to stick to the food she been eating which is puppy chow and some kind of wet food.

So i bought puppy chow and i got her some pedigree wet food the chicken and rice kind. Now should i wet her dry food so it is easier for her to eat it.

Also is it normal for them to be not so stable on there paws, what i mean is when she is eating she almost falls down.

Also when is the right age to start training her and what size of biscit do you give small dogs.

Another thing is it normal for them to shiver when they are on the floor and will this effect her when she gets bigger.

she weighs 1.5 lbs well thats what it says on my scale. I have never had small dogs every other dog i have owned where either labs or shepards, or sheltie mix.

Seeing from the pictures does she look like a yorkie, i tried looking for post that tell you what to look for but for some reason i haven't any idea where to look.

Ok if it works this is my little girl;

Most breeders keep the pups till at least 8 weeks and alot 10-12 weeks. So your baby is very young. It doesn't suprise me she is a bit shaky on her feet. Puppy chow is fine but I would consider changing her food to a better brand gradually. Untill then, yes I would get her food a little wet so she gets use to it. I would also highly recomend Nutrical. Its a suppliment for low blood sugars. It may help with the shakiness. Their sugar levels drop quickly. Maybe a trip to the vet soon if you haven't already, to get her checked out. Hope these suggestions help.

So does she look like a yorkie or a pom, seeing i have never owned either one have just gone by pictures, the old owner said her tail is like a pom but has the marking of a yorkie. Yes i have her set to go to the vet on wed to get her shots and to be dewormed. Now is there anything i can give her like formula or something babies would eat or drink.

Welcome and Congratulations on your new baby Bella!! Your baby is so cute, I look forward to watching her grow on the forum. She does sound so young, such a baby but I am sure you are taking excellent care of her and she will be strong in no time. I brought Missy home at 8weeks which I felt was too young, then Max at 12 weeks which seemed just right. A few weeks will go by really fast, she'll be much stronger on her feet and she'll have you wrapped around her little paw in no time ;)

Hi Angie, I think your baby is adorable. Honestly I can see both breeds in her. A friend of ours has a pom/yorkie mix and its one of the most beautiful furbabies I have ever seen. Its so hard to know what they will look like as adults though.
I know that they do have puppy formulas but I have never used them. Check with the Vet maybe on Wednesday. Or maybe someone here can answer that. Keep us posted. :)

thank you everyone, I just finished playing with her and she is now starting to get comfortable where she is getting frisky, which is good. :animal37. I also read up on that if you get a puupy to young that you can teach it some of the basic that the mother would have by for instance when they bite you your suppose to yelp loud enough that it makes the dog think hay if i do this they wont play. Has anyone ever done this.

Also i will be asking the vet on Wed for sure on different things i can do to make this pup as healthy as she can be.

Hi and welcome to YT!! You sound like a wonderful new furbaby mom and your little girl is adorable. She looks like a mix of both breeds and this mix is one of my favorite as they are always sooo cute!!

Yes, say "ouch" really loud when they bite hard and they will learn not to do it. She shouldn't be shaking. It is very important to keep babies as warm as possible as they can get sick very quickly. You may want to put a sweater on her if your house is cold.

Did you find a good vet. Read up on vaccines on here before you go because you want to be educated enough to make the right decisions for your baby. It is best not to get "combo shots" if possible but rather one at a time and there are some shots you don't need. The rabies is required by law in some places but wait on that until she is at least 4 months if not older. I don't give mine lepto, corona or bordatella because after my research I decided these did not really work and were not worth the risk of reactions in my opinion.

There is a lot to learn and a lot of decisions to make but I can tell you love this little baby and will do what is best for her.
