jolissa | 06-17-2009 05:09 PM | Well actually I keep him in a slight oil & wrap his coat only in the middle of his body with rubber bands, so he does not peepee on his coat. He is a show dog, so with his coat I have had to trim it to keep it at a good length, so he doesn't trip on it in the ring. For my yorkies that I have in coat, that are young & their hair does not touch the floor yet I spray the brush with a leave in conditioner each time I brush them. You should never brush a dry coat, as it can break the hair. I give them a bath once a week to keep them clean & to not cause a build up of the leave in conditioner. Don't forget to use a good moisturizing conditioner after shampooing to keep the hair silky. I own a dog grooming buisness too, so I have tried different methods & this seems to work the best.
