Is my puppy a full bred? 1 Attachment(s) I got her last week but she seems to have shorter hair than most her age..... |
She is cute, how old is she? She kindof looks like she has some chihuahua. It is so hard to tell when they are small. |

I'm no expert but she looks like she may have a little chi in her. Like everyone else said...you may have to wait a bit to see how her hair comes in. Did she come with papers? Did you see the parents? Whether she is pure yorkie or a mix she is absolutely ADORABLE! Sadie didn't have fluffy hair when I got her and, she is AKC registered...I saw both of the parents and they are pure yorkie. |
I saw a picture of the dad since the dad did not belong to the owner and the female wasn't there. I have the paper work on the parents but one was akc and the other was ckc so she did not have papers. We wrote up paper work saying i was receiving a yorkie pup and she was the one who wanted to do the paper work. She did have two pure yorkies running around the house but they were not the parents. |
Peoples are so funny with their Oh! I think its mix with so and so . If the pup wasn't full bred , he wouldn't exist . |

I think she's a chilhuahua mix. An 8 week old yorkie puppy's hair is already full and fluffy at that age. The shape of her head and face also looks chilhuahua to me. She's cute but obviously not what was represented to you...I'd return her to the breeder. |
RebeccaG has a little puppy named Ksena that looks a lot like yours. She had a thread titled much the same when she got hers. We all speculated it was a chi mix. She did DNA testing that was sort of inconclusive. I think it may be that a chi was used way back in the breeding. At one time unscrupulous breeders did this to try to get the size to stay small. Yours was probably from yorkie parents but somewhere way back there may have been some funny stuff in the wood pile. :) I will bet she is just as loving as can be though! She does kind of look like Ksena... Hi there Debra....Yep, Ksena is the female to the right in my avatar who is getting a tiny bit cuter but still not what I'd like her to look like...it's a good thing she's sweet...lol! It is frustrating when you expect something other than what you get but nothing I can do about it now. How long have you had her? If you're not satisfied do you have an option of returning her, assuming you haven't had her long.... |
I have only had her for a week but I have fallen in love with her and don't want to give her back. I might confront the breeder still but I love this little one! :D |
