My 1st Yorkie (and NOW the 2nd love of my life besides my daughter!) Miley! 1 Attachment(s) Here is a picture of my sweet baby, Miley. She is my first yorkie. She was born January 17th, 2008. She is now around 7-8 lbs and such a sweet little girl. She was rescued, by me, from a nasty lady who had a sort of mini puppy mill that was being run out of her garage (She has since been shutdown after I reported her). She had placed an ad in our local paper so I went to her home to see the puppies she had for sale. That's when I realized what she was doing. She had several different breeds of dogs, some were purebreds mating with purebreds, some were one breed mating with a different breed to make a new breed. All to cash in on this "designer" dog fad that is sweeping the country. Miley has brought so much happiness to my daughter and I since the day we brought her home. I am a single mom of a beautiful 6 year old little girl and things have been rough for us, especially with the economy. But Miley always knows when I'm feeling down and immediately comes to me and curls up in my lap or starts nipping at my toes, telling me she wants to play, hoping to cheer me up :) I would love to bring another yorkie into our family, but unfortunately the few reputable breeder's in our area have really raised the prices on their pups. I can see paying $800-1200 for a potential show dog, but all I want is a family pet. So at this point in time, I can't afford to spend that much. I religiously scan our local ads hoping to find a unwanted Yorkie to adopt, but so far we've had no luck. It breaks my heart knowing that there are precious Yorkies out there that I know aren't being properly cared for and loved by irresponsible owners. We would jump at the chance to bring a new sweet little boy or girl into our loving home :):aimeeyork |
Well, Miley is absolutely precious, there is no doubt. Don't give up. A sweet little yorkie is out there somewhere for you. I have two rescues and two rehomes. I just recently stopped at our local humane society who had 2 fullbreed yorkies for adoption. Most will charge some sort of fee, but nothing compared to to a breeder. We got our last little guy from PAWS. He was $85 and was fixed and everything. Pip was from Indiana Petite Paws Rescue. She was a about $300, but worth every penny. I wish you much luck in finding a new baby to love. |
Aww, Miley is precious! It really is amazing the way a little dog can literally change your life :). That's what my Ralphie did for me, and I call him the 2nd love of my life too (next to my bf ). I am sure that when the time is right you will find your 2nd Yorkie that is just meant to be. It has a way of happening like that :p:p |
Congrats on your cutie baby! Sounds like you are blessings in each others lives. :) |
