Went to see Gidget again today... 2 Attachment(s) It never ceases to amaze me at how quickly she is growing and changing! She is now 5 weeks and 5 days old, and should be coming home on may 10th! Yay! We can't wait!!! |
Oh my, she comes home at 8 weeks? |
Yeah unfortunately she will be coming home at 8 weeks which is the youngest that our state will allow. But that is bc there have been some health issues with the breeder and she needs to have them go to their homes so that she can take care of herself. She normally does not let them go home until 10-12 weeks but this time it is out of her control. And I do think it is best for her to do so, she wishes they could be with their mom longer, but all of us that have bought puppies understand her situation. It should be ok, I have spoken with my vet about what to do and how to care for at such a young age...so I am putting it in God's hands and doing as I am told for once in my life! lol |
And no she is not just some crazy backyard breeder. She has 2 females and one male and only one of her females is not yet been spayed. With her health issues she has decided to not continue to breed and after these puppies go home this female too will be spayed and her male neutered. I just did not want anyone to get the wrong idea. She is one of my very best friends, and has always bred for the love of the breed. She actually sold this litter of puppies at a very reduced price bc she wanted them to go to good homes and was concerned about the current economic times. So yes they are going home considerably early but she needs to have some major surgeries in the very near future and won't be able to care for them any longer she has already put the surgeries off much to the detriment of her own health for the love of these puppies. |

What a doll!! And don't worry about her coming home at eight weeks. It happens all the time and the dogs turn out just fine. :) |
