Here are a couple new pictures of Eddie playing along with a picture of him sitting on a too-small pillow. I guess it's time I bought him his own bed, huh? He really likes that soft pillow but he barely fits.

Wow, what a nice surprise. I posted those pictures in a hurry before going to work, and I return to all these nice responses. You guys are great. I guess I'm a "regular" when you notice things like Eddie's haircuts (thanks for not making fun of his butch, by the way) and how he's growing up. Some answers to your questions:
* I've been using a Canon Digital Rebel for a couple years now, and I love it. It's a little pricey for an amateur like me ($899, and there's a more expensive model out now). Main reason I like it is it has interchangeable lenses, so I have a nice telephoto and zoom. It also has a resolution of 6.1 megapixels, so it not only shoots pictures that can be blow up big, but you can crop small portions of your picture and still have have a good quality print.
* Photography is just a hobby, a 30-year hobby, but a hobby nonetheless.
* Attached are a couple pictures to illustrate why a higher megapixel camera can produce better pictures. The first shot is a picture of Bruce chasing Eddie at a distance. The second picture is the same one cropped tight on Bruce.
* Don't think you have to have a camera like that to get good action shots. Just take more pictures. Believe me, I take plenty.

Those are without a doubt the best shots of a Yorkie in action I have ever seen!!! Good job, Eddie's Father!! Perhaps you should consider "borrowing" a new name for Eddie?? How about it? FastEddie, wanna loan your name!! :p Just kidding ... Eddie's name just fits him!

That camera is the one that Patrick has been wanting to buy for me for ages! OK ... I see what he is talking about and will let him! :) I just figured it was one of his "whims" ... and since one of my pet names for him is my "gadget guy", you can understand my hesitation! I have a bzillion "gadgets" stored away ... every little cutsey electronic thingy that comes down the pike ... my Patrick owns it! :) The lens that I use with my EOS will fit so it makes sense and looks great! Thanks for sharing those great photos of Eddie! BYW ... his haircut looks good!

I LOVE Eddie action shots ;) He is so adorable! And the pillow? very cute, he loves it! Simon still has his "baby" bed and freaks out if I even try to move it even though he doesn't fit in it anymore ;)

My son sent me a Kodak Easy Share a couple weeks ago and I have been
trying different modes. I'm going to try the sports mode for speed today
while at a 4th graders football game and see how it turns out. I have
been very pleased but I know I won't get your quality. What I love is
if it's not good DELETE and just keep taking. I took a video that was
terrible but I took a blacklight that was nice. It's just so much fun!! I
thanked him over and over for the camera and He sad "Mom, you don't
have to thank me , just send me some pictures once in awhile" He'll be
sorry he ever said that , It's been non-stop since I got it and he is really
getting a kick out of it.

I saw those pictures on another thread and thought the same thing.

And Bettyeanne, I'm a gadget guy too and wondered if it was too much camera for me. But I've literally taken thousands of pictures with it. If it broke tomorrow, I will have gotten my money's worth. I must warn it is bulky. In fact, half the time we go places, we take Kelly's smaller digital.

As for "borrowing" FastEddie's nickname, I'm a few thousand posts behind even considering such blasphemy! I'd be tossed off the forum. By the time I reach FastEddie's 3,000-plus posts, Eddie will be SlowEddie.

And CrystalsMom, I'm glad you're enjoying your camera. I saw those last pictures and loved them. Real good quality, too. That's what's so nice about digital cameras, you get instant feedback and don't have to wait two weeks for developing to find out they're blurry.

You got some really great pictures. I love them.

Wow! You take great pictures. Or maybe it's just that your subject is so great, huh? :D I don't know how I missed these. He's a gorgeous yorkie, but that first picture just blows me away. It's great!

WOW great action shots...your camera takes good pictures...the second set of pictures are funny....he looks like a tough guy!!!!

Yeah, that picture of Bruce on Post #12 looks surreal. My mother in law accused me of altering it in Photoshop (which I've been known to do!), but that one's not doctored. It's just a closeup of a Yorkie at play, but it looks like Cujo.
