We picked up our baby girl! 2 Attachment(s) We picked up our baby girl, Lorelai, on Friday night (2/20/09) She is adorable to us and has personality galore but she is a MOOSE! She looks tiny enough when you see her but as soon as you pick her up ... oh my word she is solid and chunky! We took her to Pet Quarters the night we got her and they have a scale there so I weighed her thinking she couldn't be too much more than the 2 lbs the breeder said she was a week ago. 3.8 lbs  (date of birth Nov 7) Much more to my surprise is when we went back to PQ Tuesday morning before heading home from our vacation I put her back on the same scale and she weighed 4.0 lbs  All the clothing I bought her is too tiny *sigh* and according to the size chart it looks like she is going to be well above and beyond the 7 lb standard. I know size isn't everything *grin* but I really thought she was going to be 4 to 5 lbs at maturity. She is small in frame and her feet are tiny. Her mom is 5 1/2 lbs and her dad is 3 1/2 lbs. I guess my Lorelai just loves her food .... she's in the right household for that! LOL She is SO hyper! Oh my! She can jump/climb out of the pack n play we bought for her and can aleady jump up in the recliner or on the couch with us. She wears her clothes without too much of a fuss but Loki the male we got helps chew off her bows and collar. Now he on the other hand is everything we were expecting and weighs all of 2.4 lbs (DOB Nov 25) but he absolutesly hates clothes, probably because they are all too big on him, he's just a lil peanut LOL He also has the short nose and big eyes like Lorelai appeared to in pics but now her nose is way long and out of proportion. I am thinking *hoping* it is just a funky growth spurt or something. Enclosed are a couple pics of Lorelai from the hotel room the night we got her. I will post some pics of Loi as soon as we get hom to hold still long enough :D |
awww she is so cute! Congratulations! |
Aw, best of luck with her. She is sooo cute. I give up on the size thing. They told my Pebby would be bigger than Coco. She is 4lbs and he is 6 lbs. My Trixie on the other hand is 6mo and was spayed yesterday and she weighs 9 lbs  I can't figure it out. Doesn't really matter I'm sure you already love her. They tend to steal hearts very quickly ;) She is definatly a keeper. Love her little face. Welcome home Lorelai :cheer: Sending great big hugs from your new freinds Coco, Pebbles and Trixie :ghug: |
:congrats: Hurry home!!! We want more pics! |
So are 'we' changing her name to Tank or Moose!?! No matter... the kids look like they love her anyway they can get her! |
Ahhh...she is adorable! The weight charts can be way off. She may still only be 6 pounds or under as an adult. I can't remember what Libby weighed when I got her, but I'm thinking 3. something. She is just under 6 pounds now at 2 years...she usually is 5 pounds in the summer and puts on a little weight over the winter. I love the name you chose for her. Congrats to you! |
She is a cutie pie! Congrats! |
According to the puppy chart , if she's 17 weeks...it looks like she will only be between 5.5-6 lbs...that's a really good size...nice and sturdy, but still tiny. She's very cute. Can't wait to see pics of her and her new brother together! Congratulations! |
Congrats! |
She is just precious! What a beauty! Congratulations |
Congratulations on your baby girl! She is adorable!:D |
She sounds just perfect! I love it that my baby can jump on/off furniture and go up/down the stairs. She's an independent little thing (far from helpless) and her size allows that. My baby is 6.2 lbs. Congratulations from Missouri!!! :) |
:cheer:Welcome!!!:cheer: I am sure you will love her no matter what! She is a cutie pie! |
Congrats! she is adorable!!!! :D:p:D |
She is really cute. Leo is 8.5 lbs and think he is a great size. He is easy to pick up, but not so small that I am worried he is going to get hurt all the time.;) |
