she is adorable, i know how you feel about her. my Angel is almost 9 months old and she weighs 2.1

she was 8 ounces at 8 weeks old when i got her.

Ahhh she is adorable!! She may surprise you and reach 2 lbs yet.....KiKi is now 14 months old and just reached the 3 lb mark and is just now having her very 1st heat...sometimes the "runts" are like preemies...it just takes them a little longer to do things...soo she might grow a little more yet :-)...

I actually can't believe anyone would ever even consider "breeding" such a tiny little thing!!!! That is very surprising to me!!! I know you said that you aren't planning on breeding her now..but she's been thru so much....(from what you have told us) and even the fact that you had considered it...makes me question your judgement!! Why? Are you one of those that breed for size? You obviously care a great deal about her "smallness"!

Breeders choose a little bit bigger females to breed.....so there aren't as many risks to her life!!!!! And to the babies! Or Am I wrong?

Can you read, I did not say I was going to breed her. I say at 1st it looked as if she was going to be bigger and yes I would have breed her if she got over 3 lbs. But I would not as the size she ended up being. I understand the all sharing thing but they are rude. Thank you for the nice people out their. But I have all my females checked by a vet before breeding. I don't breed for the smallest that is just want happened this time, My females are all around 5 to 7 lbs. Thank you.

My mother in law had a tenant at her apartment that supposedely had a 1.5 lb. full grown yorkie. I couldn't even imagine what that thing looked like so I set it up with her that I would go have a look when she collected the rent. Unfortunetly the little thing was stolen one day while she ran in and had left it outside to go potty.

The worst part about that was when she put up flyers all over the neighborhood to find the dog, someone kept tearing all the flyers down! It seemed to me that the dog was probably still in that neighborhood, very close, and she never located him.:(

So there we show up a few days later to see her little man all we got was an extremely sad woman with a very broken heart.

NOPE noone was rude at all! She got "upset" because others were "sharing" their babies sizes...LOL

to the OP:
AND I can read!! You knew your baby was TINY FROM THE GET GO...so to even consider breeding her at that time...was ludicrous...

The lady I purchased my littlest one from has had some that size and smaller grown. She's been a breeder for years and sometimes, they just don't grow very big and places the tiniest ones in special homes who know how to deal with that size.

Like others have said, at 7 months she's not done growing. My baby was about 1 lb 6 oz at 5 months, the smaller ones do grow and gain more slowly and it takes a few years till they're finished. There's the tiniest maltese cutie I've seen on a site, I'm in love with this baby:

I'd like to share a funny with you.
We got Luca on Dec 30. His mother is 3.5 lbs as is his grandfather. His father is 4 lbs. Well.......Luca was 4 mos on Jan 27 and weighed at the vets.....4.9 lbs.... Surprise...... I guess we will have an 8 pounder or better, wouldn't you say. Love him to pieces, though. The more to play with, eh? (Annabella is pushing 7 lbs at 8 1/2 months.

I have a yorkie that weighs 1 lb. 9 oz. but she is not but 3 months old. I know she is going to be smaller than most yorkies as well. I noticed Keylee has a lot of hair. Has she always had that much ? Reason for my asking is b/c Annie's hair seems to be thinner and has less than some yorkies I see her age. It's mostly thinner on top of head and around the back side of her ears. Any suggestions ?

I don't think people are "jealous"...it's hard with posts, because you can't interpret the tone of voice. I think the person who said "people are sharing" is correct. I know that for me, I would never be "jealous" of another yorkie owner about the size of their yorkie! It's not the size that I care about, it's the personality. I have a golden retriever too who I love just as much as my 4 lb. little one. I am careful for breeders who breed for size...that's just not what is important (unless it's for health reasons). I think it's immature for you to be accusing people of being "jealous"....you fall in love with your pet, no matter what size it is, and I would NEVER wish to have a smaller yorkie in Lola's place. I think you may have been mis-reading the posts, but I just wanted to let you know, that people sharing their yorkie's sizes, doesn't mean they are jealous of yours. :aimeeyork

aaww! she is a little sweetie!:D I got my Pixie spayed at 13 months when I was sure she had done all her growing and had got to her maximum weight (3lbs)..I don't think breeding a yorkie under 4lbs is a good idea? correct me if i'm wrong!;) my Pixie's breeder (over 40 yrs experience) sold my girl to me for this very reason..too small to breed from and too small to show. My Pixie doesn't realise how little she is either! she is one feisty little individual! goodluck with your baby! and welcome to YT!:)
