How do I take good pictures of my Yorkie? Hello everyone, I am fairly new to this site and saw somewhere a "How to take good pictures of your Yorkie" post and now I cannot find it. Can anyone help? Thanks, Sharstin |
Well I"m trying to search for that post for you but so far cannot come up with it. With mine I just say "the magic words"...and I get that wonderful head tilt for pics! My magic words are "Do You....?".. which she thinks will be followed with Do You Want To Go For Walkies... .. so I get a head tilt just when say "Do You..."... That sounds mean of me, I know.. but I DO follow up with Walkies after the photo session, so..it's not too mean then! ;) Welcome to the site! :D |

Ah, the glowing eyes. I'm no expert. But my best results are without flash in outdoor light. Maybe someone else has better advice on that. I too tried the "red-eye" reducer on mine and it had no effect. :( |

I have an early morning so I'll have to look again tomorrow evening. Thank you so much for your help. I'll check this thread tomorrow night. |
Depending on your camera, your best bet is to get the pictures in natural light, or to get an off camera flash if your going to take the pics inside. Or if your baby is good at staying still for the photos, you can use a tripod if your camera has slower shutter speeds for the low light pics :):) |
Pictures in natural light are the best. I trained Lilly with treats. It's a lot of work at first but it pays off. I just always tell her "You wanna treat?" and she'll look and then she gets a treat after the picture is taken. |
You can use the child photographers trick...hold a toy or anything the dog will look at...slightly to the side of the camera. the reason you get the green eyes is that the light from the flash is bouncing off the back of the eye and passing straight back to the camera. If the eye is turned just slightly the green color won't be seen by the camera. This is why the off-camera flash works, it is far enough out of perfect alignment to bounce the reflection away from the camera lense. I agree with everyone else...natural lighting is best. |
