^ Yes she is now Bella. :) Well vet visit... $137.00 The good news is she's heartworm negative. YEA! The bad news is.. she has a bad tooth, some are missing doesn't know if they are gone or Up there so we need xtrays and a dental cleaning and remove the bad one.. Her hernia... might be more involved.. might not be till he opens her up to see how it is. Will spay then.. IF the hernia doesn't take tooo long.. Perfect scenerio is hernia is an easy fix and he can do the dental and spay all at once. But he says sometimes they take a long time and they only like to keep them under for so long. SO pray for the easy hernia fix. He's gonna fax me some estimates tomorrow on the different scenerios. So today first shots and some heartworm meds.. Vet also suggested I talk to the pound about getting the Humane Society to help with the bills.. cause he said they are known to help when a dog they adopt out turns out to be heartworm postive.. so I'm gonna give that a shot, can't hurt. Oh and she weighs 10 pounds I was shocked she feels so much lighter than Bailey and he's 13. He estimated her to be about 3-4 so he put 3.5 on her records. That's all till the estimates come through tomorrow. Pray it's not OUTRAGEOUS! Suppose to keep an eye on her for a couple days to see if her heat is at the end or beginning. So other than that he said she seems healthy and has a great disposition, she just layed there on her side while he poked and pushed on her hernia. :( |
How wonderful, I'm so glad you got her. |

She sure is a cutie! I just want to raise a caution about having the dental surgery done at the same time as the spay and hernia. I know it will be less expensive. However, I know that there are vets who won't do this. I can't pretend to know the reasoning behind it, but I know it has something to do with the bacteria that is let loose into the blood stream during dental surgery. Doing another type of surgery at that time can be dangerous. I'm not suggesting that you take my word for it. I've never researched it myself, but have been told this by 2 different vets. So....it's something to keep in mind. Good luck, and keep the pics coming! I'm sorry to be a "downer" I am very excited for you and your new Bella! |

No not a downer, I really don't think he will be able to do all 3 by the way he talked and by what he thought he felt with her hernia. But I will mention it and see what he says. Another question- I have only noticed her eating the dry food a couple times and then only a few pieces. So last night I remembered I had some canned Nature's Variety so I gave her some, SHE INHALED IT. I felt bad, but assumed she was eating and I didn't notice it.. WRONG. So I'm wondering if her bad tooth ( which I saw it is so bad it looks like just tartar but it's the tooth) is hurting and the dry food is too hard?? Maybe I'll mix some dry in the wet and see if she eats it then.. Or maybe some dry in water.. That's what I'll do.. :rolleyes:Ya. Any advise is appreciate. |
