She is so adorable! My maltese Posh is having some problems with tear staining right now because of teething! I am hoping that will get better when she is done this stage!

Oh goodness...a live cotton ball! She is adorable.

I don't know what you're feeding...but foods with beets as an ingredient causes red tear stains. I know some maltese owners who swear by wellness.

I feed them the chicken lovers for the puppy soul. My breeder swears by Angel Eyes, Im going to start her on that next week after her rabies shot. The staining drives me crazy!

Thanks for taking the time to look at it. I think I submit these papers to AKC?

I don't think you will be able to register her w/ AKC, but I can be wrong:confused: If this is important to you, call AKC and explain that Matilda is from Brazil but you want her registered w/ them too... I don't know... There are breeders here on YT that can give you better advice on this one...

AKC papers really aren't important to me now that I think about it. Im not going to breed or show her, so Its really not necessary :)

Oh maltese are so loveable. I love the snow white fur. I'm glad they both get along. She is so small right now its not like they can play much. But it won't be long. Glad she is doing better.

Her being so small is really hard. I had to take her to emergency twice because of her sugar drop. My breeder said I really can't let her play more than a minute a couple times a day. I will do anything to make sure she puts on some weight and not have to go through that again!

Any idea how big she will get when she is full grown? (How big are her parents?) I am sorry you had to take her to the ER twice. Are you giving her nuti-cal already? and that's not working? (nutri-cal worked wonders for me when milu was littler and just wouldn't eat anything)

The breeder thinks 2 1/2 to 3 lbs, Im hoping for at least 4 lbs. Mom was 5 and Dad was 3 lbs. She came from Brazil, and I never saw her parents though. I have got her on rice with chicken and dry food (Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lovers Soul) I have been giving nutrical at least two times a day or if I see her droopy. At the moment she weighs 1 lb 6 ozs and is 14 1/2 weeks old. Does this seem normal?

I don't know if the weight is normal or not, but I think yorkies and maltese are pretty similar in size (?) so, maybe that could be used as a benchmark? My little milu was 1.7 lbs when she was 12 weeks old, and last time she was weighed she was 2.7 lbs at 6 months. I would definitely feed her as much as I can (if she doesnt' like to eat) as not to stunt her growth.

she is so little, having a little bell on her might be helpful. ;) (milu wears a bell, and it's great, now i always know where to find her)

I can't really let her on the ground yet, well at least that is what my breeder is suggesting. As soon as I do, she starts sliding all over the wood floors, I think its adorable, he feels its too much exertion for her. So, I carry her all day. I hope she remembers how to walk when this is all said and done!
