Spot on Head - Please Look! 3 Attachment(s) Hello; My Yorkie has a spot of tan now on her gray head that I noticed when combing her today. It had to have just came in like THAT! I brush her everyday. Can you please look at this spot and tell me if perhaps this is the start of her gray hair turning to tan? I had given up all hope of that happening. All other yorkies I have had a pleasure of knowing all had no gray so this is new to me. I have even tried to scrub it off :D ITS HAIR! So will the spot continue on growing as it pleases around the top of her head? If so, how long does that usually take? Thank you very much! This is exciting to me and my girl! I included images of her and the spot - cell pics so they arent good but gives an idea. I should add her age - she is just shy of a yr. |
It is probable that the hair was pulled out in that spot and now it is growing back. When this happens it always comes in dark like that until it grows out more. When her head changes to tan it will be a more even distribution with all the hairs, not just a spot like this. This is usually caused by hair having been pulled out. |
Yes. The rest of the gray looks sooo light tan is almost looks pink. Thats the only way I can desribe the color. Not bright pink - a pink tinge? |
What a coincedence!:p I found a similar spot on my 6 month olds' head a few weeks ago........thought at first that it was a birthmark until I finally noticed that it had hair coming in on it. THEN I realized that it must have been a small bald spot from what I assume it too rough of rough-housing that goes on between she and the others. Crazy kids!:D |
No... its isnt balled. The 'spot' is tan and goes about half way up the length of the hair. All of her hair is the same length. If 'loosing' hair made it dark Im shaving her head! haha |
Spot My darling had turned a cream color after birth. At about 6 months I noticed a dark brown, almost chocolate color spot near where I put her flea and tick meds. I blamed it on the brand I changed to. I panicked but it turned back to cream. Now she is 4 and I decided to give her a puppy cut and she is now almost what yorkie owners call blue. It amazes me how much they change from year to year. I have heard that their color can change up to 7 times in their life. Does anyone know if this is true? |

As an added note of interest, we had a mixed cocker spaniel. When he was very young (and so was my daughter), she tried putting the hair on one of his ears in a little pony tail using a rubber band. She must have had it in pretty tight and don't know how long it was there before I noticed it, but I had to cut the rubber band out of it. Point is, his hair was very black and the strands of hair in that spot came back in an off white color. |
Oh Goodness! I use those lil scrunchy kind and they usually stay in just log enough for her to paw it out in one quick swipe. Then she throws it to the side in sideways bangs. They kill me! :D |
