Look what I made for the boys yesterday!! 4 Attachment(s) Well, I was shopping at walmart yesterday and happened to pass by the baby section.. They had onsies on super sale, so I picked up 2 for the boys and decided to turn them into shirts! I'm just getting the hang of sewing, but I think I did a good job for my first attempt at dog clothes. lol What do you think? PS: That's Capone in the pics reluctantly modeling for me... Mr. Biggs was taking a nap and I didn't have the heart to wake him to take pictures. lol Attachment 234142 Attachment 234143 Attachment 234144 Attachment 234145 |
They look great. What a wonderful idea. I may be going shopping in the onsies section again. Thanks for sharing. Bobbi |
Wow! That is a great idea!! Good job to Capone for being the most patient model;) He looks adorable!! Thanks for sharing... |
Well done!!! I love that idea. I may give it a whirl. Let me know if you have any pointers to share. Do you have to cut in a bit on the underside so they won't pee on it or did you just cut them short to avoid that?:):animal36 |
Well done . |

You did a great job and Capone is adorable. |

Thanks :) I used a premie onsie, but I think I will go with the newborn sizer next time, so that I can make the top of the shirt longer. How-to: I first flipped the onsie over to the back side (the side without the design) I then cut about an inch strip out (measure your dog to make sure that works for them) I then trimmed off the bottom of the onsie and also cut out the part that would be underneath their body (the private area) I trimmed it in a half moon shape, so I could retain the length of the shirt and so that they wouldn't pee on it. At this point, I tried it on them to make sure the length on the private area worked. I then sewed a the trim, so that the fabric wouldn't curl up. After I trimmed around the edges of the fabric, I sewed the underneath part together. And there you have it. lol. If you need more detailed pictures, let me know and I'll take an inside out picture of it. Can't beat a cute shirt for only $2. lol |

Sure thing. :) |
I bought those for my sister's twin boy's she had at the beginning of July! They were in need of summer clothing and I just grabbed one of each they had in the Newborn size. I was thinking of getting a few for my fur babies too, but in the premie size, they are a steel at $2.00 |
Awesome job! I love them & they are resonable & adorable....I don't know if I could do them, but for that price it is worth trying!!! Thanks for sharing this idea!!!!! ;)Hugs-Kay & Jaxon |
Cool Idea!! Great idea!! Sounds like it would be fun to do, and thank you for the step-by-step instructions!! Did you sew by hand or on a machine (I don't have a machine). |
Capone is adorable;) They look "GREAT" good job:thumbup: |
