Introducing Missy the Yorkie
 
I just posted pictures of our new addition, Missy the Yorkie. We rescued her about a month ago from her previous owner who was badly neglecting her, leaving her home alone for days at a time and she was absolutely starved for attention. We have fallen in love with her! She's the sweetest dog and is very attached to me, following me around everywhere I go. We're really not sure how old Missy is - maybe around 3-4 years old.
We found out a few days after getting Missy that she had been diagnosed with heartworms last year and had not been treated. So, on May 28, she received her first treatment (shot) for heartworms and had to spend the night at the animal hospital. Missy has to be kept calm and quiet for 4 weeks which has been relatively easy to do since she is not a very active dog. Our other dog Ace, a 2 year old Puggle, is adjusting to having another dog in the house, and they get along quite well. Missy definitely lets Ace know when she's had enough of his antics! Missy will go back to the Vet on July 1 to receive her second round of shots and will have to spend 2 nights in the animal hospital. Hopefully she'll be completely heartworm free by the end of the summer!

Welcome to YT. Missy is beautiful and looks well taken care of now and loved. Your puggle is adorable too:) I have five four of which are rescues. It's very rewarding and Missy is lucky to have found such a loving family and home. I hope the heartworms is treated and gone. That is such a hard thing for them to go through. Elaine
