He Amazes Me!
 

Shiloh has been with us now for 7 weeks and he just amazes me daily! He is such a Good Boy.. For a little guy that spent the first year of his little life in a kennell.. He has made amazing progress and is such a Character!!
We were getting ready to go for a walk the other day and so I took out his little carry kennel and he ran in like he usually does. What amazed me was.. I guess I was taking too long so in order to hurry me up and let me know he was ready to go "NOW" he took the front door of his kennel and lifted it up to shut it..
I just wanted to share about our precious little Shiloh with you all..
We are getting lots of Yorkie Kisses now.. :)

I would imagine he thinks he's found the best home in the world after being in a kennel. He's no dummy! Smart as a tack! You've found a very special baby! :p

I should clarify how I got Shiloh.. It wasnt that he was a rescue puppy really.. I got him from a breeder that was using him as a stud.. She kept all her dogs in kennels 24/7. Which is something I could never do. But to her credit, they were very clean and well taken care of. But he had no human contact at all except for the daily watering and feeding. No love whatsoever. Although now that I think of it if Shiloh could talk he would probably say he was rescued...LOL.

I agree...he IS a rescue ...by you ! He must be so in love with his new family and was pitching in on his own - that was so cute that he did that kennel door - What a dollbaby - You sound like you have a perfect little boy in him - Congrats !

Joy! That is such a neat story. Why did she give him up as a stud and how old was he? I always wonder about this too because I have talked to brreders who have what they call their "house dogs" or their pets, and then the others they keep in a separate room, building or whatever. This is disturbing to me. I think it is the same whether they are show breeders or hobby breeders. Espeically the males seem to get neglected because they are afraid if they let them in the house they will mark. I don't know how prevalent this is, but I just don't know.

Hmmm...I was looking for a small stud male for my girls and someone told me about a Breeder about an hour away in my area. I contacted her with the thought of getting a puppy and she told me that she had a stud male that was one year old and she would give me a good deal on him becuase she did not like his coloring. The rest is history.. We just adore him and think he is beautiful.. His pedigree isnt to shabby either... :)
I was a bit concerned at first because of all the marking, but that was a problem that was easily solved once I found YT and asked about it.. I was well advised about the wonderful Belly Bands.. Now Shiloh has the run of the house and is enjoying the spoiling of his life.
You sort of hit the nail on the right on the head.. The Breeder told me she wanted a house Yorkie someday.. but all her dogs are kept in her garage in kennels..
At first when we brought Shiloh home he would make me cry just to look at his little face and know that he did not enjoy love and companionship that first year.. I think we are all making up for it now and he sure is a little munchkin!!

Thank heavens you were able to take Shiloh. I know he thanks you from the bottom of his little puppy heart for rescuing him! I agree, breeders should never keep their breeding pairs in kennels or cages 24/7. Dogs were meant to be loved!

I just can't imagine how sad it must have been to be stuck in there all day and not have a lap to curl up on or a face to kiss once in awhile.. I often imagined him as thinking... "Finally, someone noticed me and wants to love me" At least that is how he acts around here.. I wish I could really express what a Great Boy he is and put forth his wonderful character but words just can not express how incredible he is!!
"Sigh" I guess that's why they call it puppy love! LOL

Shiloh is a cutie. He is lucky the breeder didn't like his coloring. Now he has a great life were he can be loved. I feel these furbabies know when they have been rescued from a sad life.
