Oh she is so cute! And doing so well already! Congratulations on your new addition. |
aww she is adorable:) |
Thanks again everybody for the compliments! We had a long night last night, her inner diva came out lol. She howled and barked (only the 2nd time I heard her bark) basically all night long. Little monkey. I thought her crate was way too big (after taking her to potty several times to no avail, she ended up pooping her crate) so I put her in a little hard cat-type crate on my nightstand with a blankie over which worked for a little while but then she woke up and barked and barked. Took her to potty, no go but then she peed on the carpet lol. She slept in her crate for a couple hours and then whine and barked. I finally gave in (I know, I know..but that little face) and let her sleep with me after she peed and she was as good as gold. I don't know if I should keep crate training her or let her sleep with me in a little bed with high "walls" to keep her secure. I'm worried abour her falling or me rolling over on her or peeing the bed. I always intended on letting her sleep with me once she was potty trained and behaviour trained so that she was aware that I am the alpha dog and she can sleep with me on my terms only but she thinks otherwise LOL. She also had her first bath (with me anyways) last night...she was soo good. She shook like a leaf but didn't cry or try to get away or anything. This little diva has me wrapped around her little finger LOL Any advice on the sleeping issue? I know she will eventually give up, I'm just worried about being able to function in school next week :D Thanks! D- and Zoe |
i'd stick with the crate.. but i only say that because Layla LOVES her crate.. it was tough going for the first couple weeks.. but i put a pillow in the bottom to raise the floor of it and put a pillow in the back to make it a smaller cozier place.. she is going ot be 2 in march and still LOVES her crate... i have to pull her out in the morning..also it is great for travelling and when she stays at her babysitters. Give it time.. be tough... dont' look her directly in the eye :p or you'll end up giving in again :) |
Maddie is 13 weeks old and she seems to do better sleeping with me.So far she has had absolutely no accidents in my bed.Somehow I sense that she is there beside me.She will sleep right through from 11 pm till 6 am.:) :) :) |
She is adorable - definitely a "keeper"!! |
awh thank you! What blows my mind (not to be the bragging daddy lol) is how smart she is. I taught her "sit" yesterday and now she does it on command and she knows "in your bag" which I taught her to get her used to going into her carrier. It was funny too b/c she would just jump in there and look at me waiting for her treat lol |
oh my gosh, i'm so dumb LOL. Because she had no problems at all with her crate the first night, I didn't really bother to get her used to it, so of course I assumed last night it would be the same story. So now, I have her small crate in the family room with a blanket over it and left the door open and put her kong with the treat stick in it in her crate and she's lying in there happily chewing away. Hopefully I can get her used to it and introduce her to the crate properly and she'll learn to feel safe in there. |
AWWWwwwwwwwwwwww Congrats!! She a beautifu! Can't wait to see more pics!! :) |
