look what i made! 4 Attachment(s) since dexter is still a pup and quite small, i couldnt find very many clothes to fit him. its cold here now so i knew i needed to do something...so i took up sewing!! the pictures below are of two different sweater vests i made (and a little matching festive pillow :D ) i would love some advice from any more experienced sewers on how to sew on a D ring properly! if you can see from the pics, i make two little cuts and sew it on the back side...but it causes the material to pucker. i also dont like the look of a full stip down the back since i think it would take away from the pattern on the sweater. anyway, i think its pretty good for a first attempt with a sewing machine! (i did almost throw the machine out the window a few times :p ) any advice is welcome! oh, and isnt the model a little cutie too?? i made a couple holiday dresses for my sisters chihuahua too, but thought it would be cruel to dress dexter us in them! lol. maybe i will anyway just to show them off too. hahaha. poor little man! thanks for looking :) |
2 Attachment(s) here is the first one i made too.. oh, and they are double sided...solid fleece on one side, pattern on the other...just in case you were interested :) |
:bravo: You did a great job. I love your little male model. He looks proud of you too. |
Those are Very Cute. Your pup is adorable:animal-pa |
I think you did an awesome job.. and Dexter is just to cute... |
You did VERY WELL! Your baby is precious! I love his little ears! Most people put the D-Ring under a piece of fabric that they sew to the vest and then sew on top and bottom of the D-ring to secure it.. Good luck! |
Wow, you did a GREAT job!! He looks soooo handsome!! |
Great job! He looks adorable in his new duds! :) |

i get all of my fabric from Fabricland....not too sure if its only a Canadian store or not...i am in love with the place. i wish i took up sewing years ago. im already planning on making clothes for me and everyone i know is likely going to get a pair of fleecy socks or mittens for christmas presents!! lol |
Ooh, I think I know which one you're talking about! I've been wanting to sew one for Mocha too, but I haven't gotten around to it yet :p Great job though, you're very creative  Quote:

You did a great job on those!!! You should be proud ;) Your little guy is adorable too, hubba hubba!! |
That's so cute. The only way I know to attach the D ring is with the strip down the back. You can make it out of the same material, and it wouldn't stand out. |
