happy 4th everyone!! I just wanted to share some pictures from our vacation up north. For all you non-Michiganers.... those of us who live in the metro-detroit area often go "up north" to enjoy our great lakes and wilderness areas.

Here are pictures of Biggie swimming for the 1st time in the lake. I got him a lifevest just incase. :p We also went boating and water skiing!

1st pic is biggie getting suited up. 2nd is him running on the beach to the water. and 3rd is him swimming!!!!

Biggie has a "happy face" on in the picture of him swimming, too cute! :p

I love his life jacket - and he doesn't look like he minds wearing it a bit.

How fun! What did Biggie really think of the water? our Sully is a good swimmer but his purpose of dog paddling is to get himself OUT of the water, haha!

Biggie sure is adorable in his life jacket! :)

Thats such a cool life vest, I am thinking about getting Missy & Max their own life vests for our camping trip to the lake in a few weeks. Where did you get yours?

Biggie looks like he IS having fun - I love the expression in that 3rd pic - Man - yorkies have a better life then I do ! I want to go swimming !....I went to Michigan in the summer and it was UNBELIEAVEABLE ! What great weather in the summer - I lived on a lake tied to an anchor on my float - ok...8 hours a day - really didn't LIVE on the lake - but I sure never wanted to leave !

thanks for the compliments everyone... biggie's loving them :D

to answer some questions:

-Biggie seemed to like the water. I was taking the pictures on the shore and my boyfriend was calling him out into the water and he paddled right out to him! The water was a little cold but he got used to it. He didn't swim for too long but he did dry off pretty quickly with the help of the sun.

-We got his lifejacket @ petsmart. It was the last XS so we were lucky to get it. It looks a bit big BUT it fits him pretty well. I also liked that I could hook his leash on it so he wouldn't swim away from us. It was $19.00 and I tried to find it on the website but they didn't have it?

Oh My! He did have fun! He looks so adorable in that life jacket too! I think they like the water cold. At least hefner had not problem this weekend and the lake we were at was C-O-L-D!!!

Great pics, Lexi likes to swim with her life jacket on too. Without her life jacket she acts like she is scared.

^^ that's exactly how biggie was! w/o a life vest he would paddle frantically. it seems like he feels more comfortable in the water with a vest. :cool:
