Thanks for the endorsement! It is always a pleasure to meet YT members in person but even more special when they become one of OUR family. Petey, aka Lil' T, has the most wonderful tail..........Penny, you forgot to tell them that...........the curls up on his back. Due to circumstances, when it was time to get his tail docked, just couldn't arrange to have it done so he is a-la-natural. For those who may be looking, his playmate, Apollo, was born one week after Petey. He is still available and a little sweetheart. He has to sit on my lap as soon as I sit down, loves to give kisses and if you turn your head up while he is trying to kiss, he uses his paw on your chin to bring it back down so he can give more kisses. And we have one girl, Chyna, who was born Aug. 20th. She is such a cutie pie, a little on the shy side except to when it comes to playing with Blu.

Petey finally met my Mom and Dad this weekend. As you can see, my Dad took to him right off. Petey spent lots of time in Dad's lap while Dad read and napped! Petey napped right with him too! It was sooo cute.

The other pictures are of Petey getting curious about his kennel. He uses a pillow that's leaned up against the couch as a ramp to get onto the couch. He hops onto the top of his kennel from the couch. Then when it 'collapses' he jumps off! Hysterical!

Petey is a very smart little cookie too. He was 'chasing' me through the house (in a circular pattern) when he figured out that if he backtracked he could 'catch' me! It was too funny!

He is getting up and down the back stairs to go outside now too. When he is done, or something spooks him, he races to the top of the stairs and waits for me, or if the door is open, he runs in the house. Ha, ha, ha! I am having so much fun!

Petey's Thanksgiving
 

Petey had a great time over the long holiday weekend. He went with me to my sisters for Thanksgiving. Everyone just fell in love with him. He made the rounds of everyone's laps, that is for sure. My nephew is a freshman in college and his girlfriend is too - she is going to be a vet. I can't wait! Will be great to have one in the family! She already has a client when the time comes. ;)

Petey is doing great. He is playing with me more and more every day. I got to chasing him around the house one evening and he got smart and doubled back and got ME instead! It was hysterical! He bats his little paws at me and has started to yip and even bark a little to 'get' me when I play hide-and-seek with my hand. He loves to try to nibble on my fingernails. Ha, ha.

He has even figured out how to get off my bed at night. I really have to pay attention to that so I can get up and let him out! LOL. He knows when he has been bad and messed in the house, LOL. He does okay, while I am at work, though. I haven't figured out his 'signal' for when he has to go out. I take him out often, but I'm still not doing it enough, apparently. :( We will get there.

He doesn't seem to mind being brushed. I would like to find a smaller brush, though. It's a challenge to brush around his snout and eyes.

I do have a question, he sometimes has the most awful puppy breath! It smells like a sewer! LOL. What can I do about that? If it was more like the usual puppy breath, I wouldn't mind. But it's sooo nasty. Ha, ha, ha. Thanks for any suggestions you might have!

Great to hear Petey is adjusting so well. We really miss him. As for the small brush, get a flea comb, it works perfectly. Bad breath, don't know, maybe some other YT members may have a solution. If so, I sure would like to know also.

Petey in the New Year
 

Hi Everyone!
:aimeeyork Petey is great! His fur is lightening up, like his Momma...so far, mostly on his head and paws, but starting to see signs of a little lightening on his back too.

He has really come into his personality. Christmas was at my parents house this yeasr (they just moved back to Indiana) and my whole family was there (about 15 people). It is a little house, so it was very cozy. My two nephews (19 and 16) have really taken to Petey...who snuggled up next to them on the couch all through dinner. [We had the dining table in the middle of the livingroom and the couch served as some of the seating.] Petey was very well behaved and loved all the attention. He is definately worming his way into my family!

I take Petey to visit my grandkids often. He gets so excited to get to play with them. They chase each other around and Petey loves to bark and chew on them. :) They, in turn, love to pick him up and snuggle with him. So far, they are doing quite well together. :thumbup:

Petey is chewing on almost everything now. LOL He loves his sqeaky toys best. He has recently rediscovered his tiny tennis ball. I haven't got him to bring it to me yet, but he does keep his stuff piled up in one place, when he is not playing with them. :p

I am having to move - the house I was renting was sold. I got the word 3 days before Christmas that I had 30 days to move out. I have found another little house, though. It has a completely fencing in yard for Petey! It is small - the house and the yard - but it has big rooms and lots of closets. :) Petey doesn't understand what is going on, but I am sure he will love his new back yard.

One thing I have started to do to help me get Petey to come to me when we are outside is to keep bacon bits in my pocket. When I call him I stoop down and hold out my hand with the treat - he always comes running. I tell him he was a good boy to reinforce the action. So far it is working well for me to get some control on him not wandering too far. He really seems to hate his leash...I put it on him only when I leave my yard.

The first picture is of Petey stuffed between the cushins of my couch. He snuggled up next to me and when I got up, thats how I found him. :D Sooo funny! The second pick is Petey in his new 'coat', a little denim and sherpa-like fleece number, laying on my desk at work. He is so good when I take him to work, they have told me that I can bring him in once a month, if I want to. Usually we only bring in our pets once or twice a year. Petey loves all the attention!

I'm so glad Petey is adjusting well! And he will have his own fenced yard!! Make sure there aren't any places he can sneak through!! I'm always worried mine will do that! I'm too scared to take my eyes off of them! :rolleyes:

I am looking forward to going back to visit Linda and bringing home a little boy some day. She is a super lady and was so very kind to me then, and now... I love keeping up with her babies..

Goodness gracious! She looks a lot like Roxie. Hopey is a beauty! Her sisters, Little Regi and Star are doing great. Regi has the mouth of the south just like her mama was and Star doesn't bark, she sounds more like a large bird with a very high and blood curdling shrill.

Petey looks like he is well loved, but then I knew that would be the case when I met you. Sounds like your new home is going to be great for Petey with a fenced in yard. Just make sure there are no small spots that he can wiggle through. We got some plastic fencing at Home Depot that comes 30, or maybe it's 36 inches wide with 1 inch holes. We put it all around our wood fence because we had some that liked to sneak out now and then. We just stapled it to the wood fence but you can also use electrical ties. It doesn't take much to keep them safe.
