Simon's Cross ~ May he be Happy now and Rest in Peace

I finished Simon's cross tonight and my husband put it up with me. He's resting now under a big tree right outside our front porch.

His favorite food in the whole world was cheese :)

I wanted to share his resting place with my YT Family. Its been 3 weeks Sunday and it still is very painful.

That is a beautiful marker. Looks like you spent a lot of time on it.

GodSpeed to a better place, Simon, where the mice are plentiful and there's a patch of sunlight for you to lay in no matter where you are. Your time here was too short, but it was full of love. Keep your little spirit close to your family here and watch over themm Simon, they miss you terribly. God Bless.

What a wonderful cross. Simon was blessed to call you mom.

I know all too well the pain - we lost our precious Dexter a little over a year ago, at the age of 11. He is missed every second of everyday, but I try to remember he is healthy and has the energy of a pup now. He is running, playing and being friends with all the ones there.

You will have lots of comfort here - there are many of us that have travelled this road.

RIP dear SIMON! The cross is beautiful! I have a lump in my throat ,sharing and remembering the pain! My last yorkie was 19 and went to the rainbow bridge in 04 and I still think of him daily even though I finally have a darling 4 month pup who has a huge part of my heart and soul that I thought was barren!My thoughts and prrayers are with you and I hope each day will get a bit easier for you! Thanks so much everyone!!! Your comments mean so much!!! Its still very hard and I still think of him everyday and I still mistakingly call the other cats Simon or talk like he's still here :(

Everytime I open a piece of sliced cheese I expect him to come running, but he don't.

When I say "are you hungry" I expect him to come running and talk to me...but he's not there anymore.

It is hard and I know it gets better, but I know I'll never forget :)

I get to see him everyday now and that brings me comfort.

Wow, the cross is really beautiful and what a pretty group of flowers! I think it's a perfect memorial for your beautiful and beloved Simon. It's been over a year for me since I lost my beautiful parrots and I still can't look at corn on the cob or muenster cheese without thinking of them.

That is so beautiful...i wish i had been able to do something like that for my Heidi.
Heidi's favourite word was 'egg'! her favourite food!:) At least we have our precious memories to hold onto.
