RIP Pixie I always avoided this section... I could never read through it without crying... Never thought I'd be posting about Pixie when she just was one year old... I can't even believe this happened.... We were just in the front yard playing.... I knew she could slip through the fence, but she would always, ALWAYS stop when I told her too. She's get that look like she wanted to do, I'd tell her no, and she'd come back.... Not this time.... She went for it.... And ran right into the road. I was screaming after her. Running as fast as I could... I wasn't fast enough. She was run over by a green car. The ER vet said she was probably killed instantly.... At least she wasn't in pain. I can't believe this. It's my fault. I shouldn't have taken her outside. I should've had a new gate put on so she couldn't get through. I should've kept her on a leash. I should've known better.... I should've given her one last hug. This is so hard. Please everybody go give your pups a big hug right now... You never know if it's going to be the last moment you have with them. |
I'm SO sorry. Please don't beat yourself up about it. I know that you may feel like it was your fault - but things just happen. My prayers are with you in this hard time. |
I am still in shock and I truly cannot imagine what you are going thru right now or how you must be feeling. Just know that there are many unexplainable things in life that happen and this is one of them. She knows you loved her with all your heart and she had such a great life with you. She will always be with you and will be forever in your heart. And now she is a little angel watching over you now. I wish I could give you a great big hug right now..... Hugs to you sweetie..... We will miss you sweet baby Pixie.....:( |
OMG I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I just can imagine what you are going through but please don't blame yourself. It was not your fault. Sending lots of hugs your way. |
So sorry for your loss... My heart is breaking for you. Please know that things happen... none of us live in a bubble. I'm sure she loved that you let her run around your yard. Dogs belong out side not cooped up inside their whole life. You knew that and were doing what was best... It was an accident. It will get better with time. Don't blame your self... Any thing can happen to any one of us... |
Oh you poor thing!!! I am so so sorry for your terrible loss! Please don't beat yourself up over this, try to remember all the happy times..I am sure you were a wonderful mommy to your little Pixie!! Bless your heart!! I WILL give mine a special hug just for you and I am sending heartfelt prayers your way!!! |
I am so sorry for your loss. |
I am so, so sorry! We will all miss little Pixie. I cannot even imagine the grief you all are going through, but just know that we are all praying for you and I know you will find peace. God bless you. |
If anyone can relate to this, I know your pain all to well. I'm so so deeply sorry this happened to your baby. but you can NOT what if your self, it will drive you crazy, I did it also and it's just not fair. She was probably not in any pain, just like Kloey was not in any pain, and now both are little angels are playing together and they will be waiting for us when it's are time. She will forever remain in your heart. |
I am sooooo sorry for your loss! I am hugging my Soph right now. Our front fence is also far enough off the ground that Soph could get out from under it. My Sophie is sending you hugs and puppy kisses:) |
oh no! I am so so sorry. I am giving extra hugs tonight. and sending hugs to you too. :rip: :littleang |

I feel just sick for you over this....What a horrible thing to happen and I'm so so sorry....They are so fast ...these awful things can happen in the blink of an eye....:( Rest in Peace little Pixie...and you have my condolences Kelly...that's so sad. |
I'm so sorry for your loss, it makes me rethink some of the times that I take Lola out into our front yard without her harness and leash. She never ever leaves my side, but as you've just posted - all it takes is just that one time. I am so, so sorry about your pup. |
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Please, Please listen and don't beat your self up. In my opinion only, I think God wanted Pixie with him. There are no accidents in this world....another opinion of mine. |
My heart goes out to you. It's never easy, whether they're one or eighteen. God must have needed another precious lapwarmer as I'm sure that's where she is now.:angel2dl: |
Oh Kathryn I am so sorry to hear about Pixie. Please don't blame yourself accidents are just that accidents. |
Oh, sweetie, I'm so, so sorry this happened. I know how heartbroken you are and I'm sending hugs and prayers for you. Don't beat yourself up over this. It won't help and you'll just make yourself sick over it. We have all experienced accidents in our lives and nothing in the world can undo them. |
I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I know K.C. runs out my front door - 99 out of 100 he just stops to mark the bush, but I know if someone was outside on the other side he would dart across. I promise you from now on he will be in my arms before I open the door. |
I am so terrible sorry for your loss. I feel your absolute pain...huge hugs and prayers.. Dawn |
Thank you, everybody.... I really appreciate your kind words and thoughts. |
I am so sorry for your loss. Please don't blame yourself, it wasn't your fault. Things happen that are completely out of our control. I know how much it hurts, but it can't be changed. So think of the time you did have with Pixie and how much love she brought into your life and know that she will forever be watching over you. Sending you hugs to help you heal. |
Kelly, I am so sorry this has happened. Don't blame yourself. This is truely heartbreaking, and I am just so sorry. Little Pixie is in doggy heaven, and she didn't suffer, thank God. |
I'm so sorry about your baby. Don't keep blaming yourself. Your baby always minded you, and you were out there, watching. That must have been horrible to see though. My younger sister had a dog that would dig out of the back yard. It also climbed a chain link fence. They even ran electricity through a wire, and it wouldn't phase Rocky. Yea, he got hit by a car too. I have a really hard time reading this section too. I think I've been on YT about 2 months now, and just got to where I can read some posts. Don't keep blaming yourself, thats the worst thing you can do. When your dog always minds, you give it more freedom naturally. Again I'm soooo sorry for your loss. Prayers go out to you. |
((((Kelly)))) I am so sorry for your loss. Please take care of you - it isn't your fault. Please do not beat yourself up over this. I know all to well what you are feeling and it is almost unbearable and will just be made worse if you blame yourself. Keep posting -- we are here for you !! |

I am so sorry for your loss. Hugs and prayers from me |
I know your heart is breaking. I am so sorry for your loss!!! |
Kelly- I am so sorry for your loss. I know it is easier said then done, but try not to beat yourself up. You feel bad enough as it is, but all the "I should haves" aren't going to change things. It wasn't your fault and sometimes we never know why these things happen. Pixie came into your life for a reason. Try to think of all the joy she brought you and know that we are all here for you. RIP little Pixie. |
