RIP my Kiwi
 

It's so hard writing this. I've had nightmares for months about this and it finally happened. I was at a friends house, my friend opened the door and Kiwi ran outside the house. I chased after her. She ran directly for the road instead of anywhere else. Kiwi was hit by a car on 7/11/06 and passed away in the emergency room. Please keep her in your prayers. Her dad and family loves her with all their hearts.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I am truly sorry to hear of your loss. I am sure that the many furbabies who are at the rainbow bridge are playing and running around with yours.
Although nothing can be said to ease your pain just know many are here for you if you need to talk.

Thank you for the kind words, it really helps. I will too meet Kiwi on rainbow bridge one day, that poem is wonderful. I'm sure she is very happy there.

Kiwi was 8 months old and I wouldn't change one thing about her or how I treated her. Our short time together was heavenly and our bond was incredible. She was just happy to be around us and I will have her ashes in my house to keep her body here. I miss and cry for her so much, it's so hard for me to grasp the reality of it.

I am so very very sorry for your loss!!! I have lost 2 cats the same way. They darted out of the house when the front door was open and headed for the street. Please stay strong and God bless you.

i know this time will be rough. I got my Baci a year and a half after my childhood dog had died. I thought getting Baci would help me overcome the loss i had suffered. Even after a year and a half, I was balling when I got baci bc I missed my other dog, Casper. But then i realized.. and retaught myself that I wasnt trying to replace casper, nothing could ever replace him, but I was extending my love to another bundle of joy.
I feel your loss and I am so sorry. And can only hope another lil pup can steal your heart just the way Kiwi did.

Casper will greet him on his way in... im sure they will love eachother!!

Thank you all so much. It really helps that people can relate. The world needs more people like you! We love her very much and no one can take that away from us, not even an automobile. I hope she learns to enjoy the company of other dogs in heaven, as she was always a bit hesitant to meet new people and dogs. Bless her heart. Kiwi knows she is very loved and missed.

Kiwi was just adorable. I'm so sorry that happened. I have a "darter" too, so that is my nightmare as well. I hope that you (and your friend) aren't feeling guilty. These things happen...sadly.
