| On The Day God Took You On the day God took you, I thought that I would die. I wondered where the time went. I asked a lot of whys?? With people all around me, I felt alone inside. From all their words of comfort, I couldn't seem to hide. I thought I might be dreaming... That I'd wake up and find you here. I thought "This can't be happening", As I wiped another tear. On the day you were laid to rest, My heart broke yet again. I wondered if the pain would end, But mostly, I wondered when?? It's hard to be without you, At times the days seem long. Sometimes I just sit crying, When there's really nothing wrong. I wish we had more time, Before you life was done. I hope you're resting peacefully, My precious little one. Author Unknown I found this today and thought it appropriate for this section of the forum. The pain that is felt when we lose a loved one (pet or human) is almost unbearable and this author expressed it so well. I am sure those of us that have lost loved ones can relate to this.

| Thank you for sharing. Tears came to my eyes yet again as I lost my Reggie of 7 years on April 4th. The poem is beautiful!

| I found that in a little weekly paper that comes out here where people list items for sale or wanted. It was listed by a mother who had lost her child - I think he was a young teenager. But I felt it appropriate for this forum as these babies are so like our children...the pain of losing one is very much the same and pain of that depth really knows no boundaries. But the thing is, to get thru that kind of sadness we have to grieve...we have to cry...we have to have those bad days...we have to feel like we just can't go on...but when we do go on, that gives up hope for tomorrow. And that is what memories are for...to get us thru to tomorrow.

| This is my Hank, Jr. We lost him in 2002 at the tender young age of 11 months old to a heart defect. He was very special to me and when I read this poem, it brought his memory home. We loved him so much and he was the sweetest thing...it was almost like he knew his time was short with us. He was such a joy! We miss you Hank! RIP Hank, Jr. 2001-2002
