No, she isn't a yorkie...she was a Basset that my parent bought when I was 7 years old. She grew up with me and I helped my mom when it came time to breeding and whelping her puppies.

I love basset puppies...they are precious with those big feet and long ears. Their bellowing is unique as well.

Tabitha defended me once by running off a German Shepherd that our gracious neighbor like to let roam the neighborhood. Anyway, she ran him to the property line and just stood there barking at him...it was too funny.

The only thing she ever killed was a rabbit that she somehow caught and left it as a gift on our back porch.

She was a beautiful gal with a beautiful heart. She lived for 11 years and we lost her one Sunday morning while dad was working in the back yard. Dad had her buried by the time I got home from church. It was one of the few times I ever saw him cry.

I miss you, Tabitha!

AWWW, she looks os sweet , reminds me of my cocker spaniel, those sad eyes... makes you want to hold them and make them feel all better!!

I found one more picture...this picture was taken in 1985 so yes, I'm telling on myself...so excuse the hair!!!!!

awww what a sweetie she was! She sounds like a great dog! Thats a great picture of her! And that second one is a great one of the both of you!

Awwww....see, a face no one could resist. Honestly, you can't get on to a dog that looks like that! What do you do when they stare up at you? You thank them for the dead rabbit and realize you are a sucker!

She was BEAUTIFUL Kimberly! You were right...what a good dog. They honestly are the biggest oafs...don't give a darn WHAT you do to them.

My aunt took that first picture. Everytime I look at it, I smile. It is a GREAT picture...Tabitha looking off into the distance.....you're right! What a face!

That is an AWSOME picture. It looks like a postcard or something! I am surprised she was not trying to smell the camera or lick it or something. I don't understand why dogs don't want to sit and smile!

I understand how much you miss her. She was a beautiful baby. May she rest in peace until you meet again. She is in my prayers.

Thanks, everyone. Tabitha has been gone for many years now but I had posted on the Breeder's Facts thread and it reminded me of her so much that I had to search for her pictures. She was the best dog ever.

when time comes thats the worse part of loving a animal but i couldnt survive without loving animals

Tabitha was really beautiful . My friend Helene is a breeder of Basset . Last year , one of her boy was on a tv serie .

We used to have Bassetts as well I love them. I have been thinking that maybe whenever something happens to our lab about getting another one. Her name was Natasha she was a tri color. Tabitha is absolutely gorgeous.

She was a beauty alright,made me think of the television show the Peoples Choice , boy that was in years past , Cleo the real star of the show was this incredible smart... sweet looking Bassett Hound that everyone just loved.
So very sorry for your loss.
